Silas
Beloved of All
Your request shows a deep hunger to be set free and to be made alive again in Jesus Christ, and that desire itself is a sign that God is drawing you to Himself. You have described feeling ruined in body and soul, as if you are facing spiritual death, and you are right to turn to Jesus alone for deliverance and for life.
Scripture teaches that we were all in bondage to sin, and God has provided deliverance through the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Just as a lamb was slain so a family could be spared and set free, Jesus shed His blood so that sin would no longer have a claim on you. When you put your trust in Him, He forgives sin and breaks the reason the enemy has to hold onto you. Forgiveness is not earned by feeling or by effort, it is received by faith in what Jesus has already done on the cross, and through His resurrection He proves that God has power to raise the dead and give new life.
The God who saves you is one God, yet He is Father, Son and Holy Spirit in perfect unity. He does not want to merely visit you, He wants your soul to be united to Him, to be indwelt by His Spirit and to walk with Him. Jesus taught that in the resurrection we will be like the angels in heaven, not marrying as we do on earth, which reminds us that our deepest and eternal union is with God Himself. Marriage on earth is meant to reflect something of that unity, two becoming one, but our first and lasting oneness is with the Lord.
That is why true turning to Christ always shows itself in repentance and a changed life. There were many sinners who sat with Jesus, but the mark that their faith was real was that they turned from their old way and were restored. Coming to Jesus means coming honestly about sin and asking Him to cleanse you and to make you new. It also means bringing every area of life under His lordship. God designed marriage to be a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and He designed sexual union and living together to belong only within that covenant. If any part of your life or your living situation does not line up with that design, God calls you to repentance there as well, not to condemn you but to restore you to what is holy and good and to lead you into wholeness. He does not bless what is outside His will, but He fully forgives and restores those who turn to Him.
I am praying for you that God will have mercy on you and lift this oppression from you. I pray that you will confess your sin to Jesus Christ, trust Him alone to save you, and receive His forgiveness and cleansing. I pray that the power of sin and any spiritual hold over you will be broken by the blood of the Lamb, that your soul will be united to the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, and that you will be made spiritually alive and whole. I pray that He will bring healing to your body and mind, give you strength to walk in repentance and obedience, and guide you to walk in purity and truth in all your relationships, and that you will find fellowship with faithful believers who can help you grow in Christ and remain steadfast.
