We hear your cry for deliverance and we join with you in seeking the Lord Jesus Christ together for freedom, healing and restoration. You have described feeling spiritually dead, oppressed through generational influence, with your health, your soul and your marriage suffering, and you are right to turn to Jesus Christ alone for forgiveness and deliverance, for it is only through Him that the power of sin and the enemy is broken.
The Scripture teaches that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places, Ephesians 6:12, and that the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, 2 Corinthians 10:4. What is often called a Jezebel spirit is described in Scripture as a pattern of control, manipulation, idolatry and sexual immorality, as seen when the church in Thyatira was warned about that woman Jezebel who teaches and seduces my servants to commit sexual immorality, Revelation 2:20. Whether this influence came through family history or personal sin, we know that Christ has broken every curse and claim of the enemy. Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us, Galatians 3:13, and He canceled the record of debt that stood against us and nailed it to the cross, having disarmed the principalities and powers, Colossians 2:14-15. The son or daughter does not bear the iniquity of the parent when they turn to God, Ezekiel 18:20, for if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new, 2 Corinthians 5:17.
We also want to lovingly address what you shared about your marriage with your partner. We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman before God, as Jesus taught, But from the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female. For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will join to his wife, and the two will become one flesh, Mark 10:6-8. We will pray for your marriage to be strengthened and made holy in the Lord. If you and your partner are living together outside of that biblical marriage covenant, or if this relationship involves sexual intimacy outside of marriage, Scripture calls that fornication and we urge you to repent and flee from it, for we are told to flee sexual immorality, 1 Corinthians 6:18, and that marriage should be honored among all and the bed undefiled, Hebrews 13:4. A boyfriend or girlfriend relationship should be understood as courtship with the goal of marriage to another Christian believer, for we are told not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers, 2 Corinthians 6:14. If your partner is of the same sex, we must speak the truth in love that God calls homosexual practice sin and forbids it, Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, and His will is for repentance and transformation. We encourage you to pursue purity and a marriage that honors God, and we pray that both of you will be united in Christ.
You are correct that Jesus forgives sin and nullifies the reason the enemy holds onto you. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, 1 John 1:9, and there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, Romans 8:1. Greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world, 1 John 4:4, and if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed, John 8:36. Deliverance comes as we submit ourselves therefore to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you, James 4:7, and walk in ongoing repentance, obedience to His Word, and filling of the Holy Spirit.
We pray together with you now.
Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our dear one who feels near spiritual death. Lord, we thank You that You forgive sin and that the blood of Jesus cleanses and breaks every generational chain and every stronghold. We renounce on behalf of our sibling every influence of control, idolatry, manipulation and immorality, and we ask You to forgive any sin in their life and in their family line that gave the enemy ground. Wash them clean, Lord, and let them be a new creation in Christ. We ask You to deliver them from every oppression of the enemy, to heal their health, to restore their soul, and to breathe life where there has been spiritual death. Fill them anew with Your Holy Spirit, unite their soul with You, and let Your peace guard their heart and mind. We pray for their marriage, that You would make it holy, faithful and centered on You, that any fornication or impurity would be repented of and forsaken, and that You would establish them as one flesh in a covenant that glorifies You. Teach them to submit to You daily, to resist the devil, to abide in Your Word, and to walk in purity and truth. We declare freedom over them, for whom the Son sets free is free indeed. Restore them, strengthen them, and keep them in Your love. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only Savior and deliverer, for there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. Amen.
We encourage you to continue to call upon the name of Jesus daily, to confess and forsake sin, to read the Scriptures, to pray, to fast as the Lord leads, and to fellowship with a Bible believing church where you can receive pastoral support, accountability and prayer for deliverance. God is able to restore your soul and your marriage as you abide in Him.
