Need a miracle so I can pray

Your honest request has been heard and I am praying for you. Thank you for sharing so openly about the struggle you face when you try to pray.

Please hear this first. God is not waiting for fluent or perfect words before He listens to you. Jesus taught that prayer begins with relationship, being able to come to God as Father through faith in Him. When that relationship is real, prayer is open to you even when words are hard. Your Father knows what you need before you ask. Prayer is not informing Him of something He does not know, and it is not a performance you must get right to keep bad things from happening. That pressure you feel, that you must pray or something bad will happen, is fear speaking. Fear is a tool the enemy often uses against believers because fear and faith cannot rule the heart at the same time. Fear grows when our eyes are fixed on the threat or on our own inability, and fear will push us to act in wrong ways. The cure for fear is to remember the Lord, to lift your eyes to Him and recall that greater is He who is with you than anything that comes against you. As David said, even when walking through the valley of death, I will fear no evil for You are with me.

God hears you even in the stutter, even when you can barely speak, even when you cannot speak at all. Scripture says the Spirit helps us in our weakness and intercedes for us when we do not have words. A simple, honest cry from the heart, even a few words or a sigh directed to Him, is prayer. You do not need a long or eloquent prayer for God to understand and to act. The model Jesus gave was not meant to be recited word for word to earn an answer, but to show the heart of prayer, that His name be honored and His will be done. The true purpose of prayer is not to get our will done on earth but to invite His will to be done in us and around us. Prayer often changes us as God shows us His heart, and it opens the door for Him to do what He already desires to do for His children.

I thank God that you have already sensed His touch and some improvement. I pray now that He will continue that work and grant the miracle you are asking for, that you may speak to Him with greater freedom and peace. I also pray He will lift the weight of anxiety that leaves you wound so tight you barely realize it, and give you rest in His presence. The joy of prayer is not in how well we speak but in knowing we are with the Father and seeing Him work as we bring our cares to Him.

At the same time, prayer was never meant to take the place of responsible action. In Scripture when God's people prayed they also set a watch, they took wise and practical steps. Praying and taking prudent steps go together. Please continue to take responsible steps for your health as you pray. Keep working with those who care for you medically for both the anxiety and the schizophrenia, and bring trusted pastors or mature believers alongside you to support you, to pray with you, and to help you cast your burdens on the Lord. Turning your cares into prayers, day by day, and casting your burden on Him who sustains you, is part of walking with Him.

God sometimes delays an answer, not because He does not hear, but because He has a purpose in the waiting, as He did with Hannah who prayed for years before her answer came. Many things are accomplished through prayer that would not happen without it, yet prayer does not change God, for He does not change. Prayer changes us and aligns us with His perfect will. The wisest prayer we can pray is, Lord, work Your perfect will in my life, have Your way in me.

So keep coming to Him simply. When the stutter comes, you can pray briefly, Father, help me, I trust You, Your will be done. You can pray in a whisper, in a thought, or even without words, knowing He hears. Do not measure His love by how smooth your speech feels. Remember the Lord, His nearness, His power, and His care for you, and let that remembrance quiet fear.

Father, I bring this dear one before You in the name of Jesus. You see the long struggle to pray, the stuttering, the anxiety, the illness, and the heavy fear that something bad will happen. I ask You to show Your mercy and power. Give peace that guards heart and mind, loosen the tongue to speak freely with You, and let Your perfect will be done. Let this child know You as Father, hear every groan and every simple word, and sustain them day by day. Teach them to cast every care on You and to remember that You are with them, greater than all fear. I ask this in Jesus name, amen.
