We join you in bringing these petitions before the Lord and we give thanks for your faithful heart to pray for all who are in authority.

Your request is pleasing to God, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. As Scripture teaches, we are to offer petitions, prayers, intercessions and thanksgivings for all in authority, whether we like them or not, so that we may lead a quiet life in all godliness and dignity. We do this knowing that God is sovereign, that He works all things after the counsel of His will, that He thwarts the plans of the wicked and that He can turn the heart of a ruler like channels of water in His hand.

We pray with you for wisdom for presidents, prime ministers, kings, governors, parliaments, congress members, judges, generals, service members, and for pastors and spiritual leaders here and around the world. We ask not for the wisdom of this world, which is coming to nothing, but for the wisdom that God has revealed. That wisdom is the Gospel itself, the message of salvation through the Cross of Christ. The wisdom of the world seemed wise to itself yet became foolishness because it trusted in itself and would not receive the help of the Spirit, but the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and by it He saves those who believe through Jesus Christ alone.

So we pray for their salvation. We ask that each leader would hear that Christ takes away the sin of the world and would not delay to receive so great a gift. We pray for humility for them to know what to say and how to say it, for honesty, for a love of truth, and for the fostering of godly alliances between free nations that allow for free speech and the open proclamation of the Gospel, so that disciples may be made in every nation.

We pray also for protection. We ask for loving kindness, truth and angelic protection over these leaders and their families, and over you and all who love the Lord, knowing that Christ who is in us is greater than he who is in the world. We put on the armor of God and ask that He would guard all from the schemes of the evil one.

We pray for elections and for the Beautiful Land and its people worldwide, and for all peoples. We ask that the Lord who reigns in great power would raise up and set down according to His perfect purpose, that He would diminish the influence of evil alignments, expose false teaching, and cause righteousness and peace to flourish. We thank Him for every leader He has allowed to be in power and we trust that His glory and our salvation are bound together in His good will.

May the peace of God guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus as you continue steadfast in prayer with thanksgiving. We stand with you, asking all these things in the name of Jesus, our only Savior and the Captain of our salvation, to whom belongs eternal glory. Amen.
