Beloved of All
Your prayer for leaders and nations is good and pleasing before God, and we join with you in it. The Scripture commands us to offer petitions, prayers, intercessions and thanksgivings for all in authority, whether we like them or not, so that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and dignity, for God our Savior desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth through Jesus Christ alone.
We pray with you that the Lord who reigns and does whatever He pleases, who works all things after the counsel of His will and turns the hearts of rulers like channels of water, would grant wisdom to presidents, prime ministers, kings, parliaments, governors, congress members, judges, generals, and to our pastors and spiritual leaders. We do not ask for the wisdom of this world, which is foolishness with God and comes to nothing, but for the true wisdom that is hidden in Christ, the wisdom from above that makes people truly wise and prudent. As we have learned, changing forms of government, whether aristocracy or kings or other rulers, does not by itself make a people better. Only virtue and the knowledge of Christ can do that, so we pray that those in authority would seek that wisdom which endures beyond this age.
We ask God to protect the President and his family, the cabinet, service members, senators, representatives, justices, and all who serve, and to surround them and us with His loving kindness, truth and angelic protection, keeping us from the evil one, for greater is Christ who is in us than he who is in the world. We pray for humility for leaders, that they would speak what is right and in the right way, for honesty, for godly alliances between free peoples, and for the diminishing of evil alignments, false teaching and persecution, so that free speech and the open proclamation of the Gospel may continue and disciples may be made in every nation.
We pray also for the Beautiful Land and its people, and for its people worldwide, and for the peace of Jerusalem, asking as you have that God would save and protect them, and above all that they and all peoples would come to repentance and salvation through Jesus the true Messiah, for there is no other name by which we are saved. We pray for elections and for all who govern, that God would raise up and set down according to His sovereign purpose, thwart the plans of the wicked, and work all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.
We give thanks for leaders who endeavor to be honest and to live by a godly worldview, and we thank God that He hears prayer. We submit ourselves to Him, put on His armor, and continue in prayer with thanksgiving, asking that the peace of God would guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. May the Lord grant these requests according to His mercy and power, for He is the Almighty who was and is and is to come, and His kingdom endures forever.
