Beloved of All
Your prayer has been received with thankfulness and we join our hearts with yours before God, for this is good and pleases Him who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
We give thanks with you for the command to make petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving for all people, for kings and all in authority, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. God has ordained the authorities for good order in this present life, to keep guard, to restrain evil, to hinder sedition and to allow peace for the preaching of the gospel. Therefore we pray as you have asked, that the President, the Vice President, all cabinet members and all who bear authority in every nation, whether in Europe, Asia, the Middle East or Africa, and in every local place, would be granted intelligence, character, protection and godly wisdom. We ask that God would set a guard over their mouths and give them the tongue of the wise, that they would be surrounded by godly counsel, turn from bitterness and rivalry, and do justly, love mercy and walk humbly with Him.
We pray also for the unity you seek. True unity is not merely agreement for its own sake, for even robbers can agree together, and an evil peace is worse than a good discord. The unity we seek is the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. As the Spirit was given to unite those separated by race and customs and manners, so that old and young, rich and poor, and every soul become as one body, we pray that this bond of peace would bind leaders and peoples together in love. This bond does not bruise or cramp, but leaves free and gives strength, so that the strong supports the weak. We pray that God would frustrate the plans of the enemy to divide and destroy, and that the nations, which are His inheritance, would be brought under His righteous rule.
We remember before God the wisdom of this world and the wisdom which is from above. The wisdom of rulers and of this age is coming to nothing and cannot profit even here, much less beyond. But the wisdom of God, hidden in mystery and foreordained before the ages for our glory, makes foolish the wisdom of the world and overcomes it by a greater wisdom. We pray that our leaders would not trust in mere human wisdom, but would receive heavenly wisdom and angelic protection, and that they would seek the welfare of the cities where God has placed them, for in their welfare we find our own.
For your own region and neighbors, for students and teachers, workers and fishermen, parents and pastors, law enforcement and local leaders, we pray that the Holy Spirit would convict of sin and righteousness and judgment, and draw them to the Son. We ask that a wall of fire would surround your area and guard it from evil, and that many would hear the Word and receive saving faith in Jesus Christ as a gift, for there is no other name by which we are saved.
For daily provision we join you in asking our Father for daily bread, for godliness with contentment, for the fruit of the Spirit, especially love, joy and peace, and for a cheerful heart. May He restore what has been lost and make glad His people.
And we do not forget those in chains. We remember the persecuted church throughout the world, those imprisoned for the sake of Christ, and we pray for their release and relief, for courage to endure, and for the peace of Jerusalem and all the children of Abraham according to the promise.
Let us continue with diligence to keep this unity, to pray without ceasing, and to seek His face, trusting that from the first day we set our hearts to understand and humble ourselves before Him, our words are heard. May His kingdom come and His will be done on earth as it is in heaven, and may all our prayers be aligned with His will and offered in the name of Jesus Christ, in whom alone we have access to the Father. Amen.
