๐Ÿ™ NATIONAL & WORLD LEADERS 1 Tim 2:1-4, New Testament Urges Prayer for ALL in Authority, 1 Tim 2:1-4, ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ, ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡บ Asia ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ณ

Your burden to pray for those in authority is right and biblical, and we join you in it. Scripture urges that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may live quiet and peaceable lives in all godliness and reverence, and because God desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

We pray with you that God would give to leaders the wisdom that comes from above. Scripture shows us the difference between two kinds of wisdom. One is earthly, driven by envy and selfish ambition, and it brings confusion and every evil work. The other descends from above and is first pure, then peaceable, gentle and willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits. The world by its own wisdom does not know God, and its wisdom comes to nothing, but the wisdom God gives leads to life and righteousness.

Like Solomon, who pleased the Lord when he asked not for riches or fame or power over his enemies but for an understanding heart to govern well, we ask God to give leaders a hunger for true wisdom. We pray they would seek it as one seeks silver or hidden treasure, knowing that it is better than gold and rubies and that nothing we desire can compare to it. For the Lord gives wisdom, and from His mouth come knowledge and understanding, and He holds sound wisdom for the upright. Happy is the one who finds it, for it is a tree of life to those who take hold of it.

We ask the Lord to set a guard over the mouths of those in authority and to give them the tongue of the wise, that their words would bring healing and not harm. We pray they would be surrounded by godly counsel, that they would do justly and love mercy and walk humbly with God, and that their leadership would promote righteousness and peace rather than bitterness and rivalry. We pray for angelic protection and heavenly intelligence for them, and that every plan of the enemy to divide and destroy would be frustrated. We ask for a unity that honors God, for God commands blessing where His people dwell together in unity, and we pray that the nations would be claimed as His inheritance.

We also pray as you asked for the welfare of the places where God has planted each of us. We ask Him to seek the good of our communities, for in their peace we find peace. We pray the Holy Spirit would convict neighbors, students, teachers, workers, parents, pastors, law enforcement and local leaders of sin and righteousness and judgment, and that the Father would draw many to His Son. Salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, for He is the way, the truth and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him. We pray God would grant the gift of saving faith through hearing His Word, and that He would be a wall of fire around our homes and neighborhoods and keep His people from evil while they remain in the world.

For daily needs we give thanks and ask the Father for daily bread, for contentment with godliness which is great gain, and for the restoring of what has been lost. We ask Him to produce in us the fruit of His Spirit, love, joy and peace, and to give cheerful hearts. Where there has been shame He can give a double portion, and where there has been affliction He can give gladness, for though He wounds He also heals and binds up.

We remember with you those in chains and the persecuted church around the world. We pray for the release and relief of those imprisoned for their faith, for comfort for the afflicted, and for the peace of Jerusalem and for all the descendants of Abraham, asking God to bless those who bless them according to His promise.

Prayer begins with relationship. Through Jesus we have access to the Father, and apart from Him prayer has no foundation. The purpose of prayer is not to accomplish our own will on earth, but to see His kingdom come and His will be done. As we pray in the name of Jesus and according to His will, we trust that He hears us.

May the Lord hear these prayers, align our hearts with His purposes, and grant peace that passes understanding as we trust Him. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Amen.
