We stand together in fervent prayer for our national and world leaders, lifting them before the throne of grace as Scripture commands. First of all, we urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people—for kings and all who are in authority—that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:1-4).
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, recognizing that all authority comes from You (Romans 13:1). We pray for the salvation of every leader, that their hearts would be turned toward You, the only source of true wisdom and righteousness. Lord, we ask that You draw them to Yourself, that they may know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Without faith in Christ, no one can truly lead with godly wisdom or justice.
We pray for the President, Vice President, Cabinet Members, and all those in positions of authority. Grant them intelligence, discernment, and a deep reverence for Your Word. Set a guard over their mouths, Lord, that their words would reflect wisdom and truth (Psalm 141:3). May they speak with the tongue of the wise, bringing healing and not harm (Proverbs 15:2). Surround them with godly counselors who will guide them in Your ways, and protect them from those who would lead them astray.
Father, we ask that You would raise up leaders who do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with You (Micah 6:8). May their leadership promote unity, righteousness, and peace, rather than division or strife. We pray against the schemes of the enemy, who seeks to sow discord, confusion, and destruction. Let no plan of the evil one prosper against our leaders or our nations (Psalm 33:10). Instead, grant them heavenly wisdom and insight, as You did for Elisha and his servant when they saw the heavenly armies surrounding them (2 Kings 6:12-17).
Lord, we also pray for unity among political parties, nations, and peoples. How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity (Psalm 133:1). Break down the walls of division, pride, and selfish ambition. Let Your Spirit move among the leaders of the world, that they may seek common ground for the good of all people, not just their own interests. May they be guided by Your truth and not by the lies of false prophets or the deceptions of the world (Titus 1:11).
We ask for Your protection over our leaders, both here and abroad. Command Your angels to guard them in all their ways (Psalm 91:10-12). Shield them from physical harm, spiritual attacks, and the snares of the enemy. Protect their families, their minds, and their hearts. Lord, we also pray for the protection of Christian leaders and civilians worldwide. May Your hand of favor rest upon those who serve You faithfully, and may Your justice prevail against those who seek to oppress or persecute Your people.
Father, we pray for the eradication of evil in and around elections. Let no corruption, deceit, or manipulation go unchecked. Raise up leaders who fear You and hate dishonest gain (Isaiah 33:15). Silence the voices of falsehood and division, and let truth prevail in every corner of the earth. May Your people humble themselves, pray, seek Your face, and turn from their wicked ways, so that You may hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:14).
We long for the day when righteousness and peace will reign fully and finally—the Day of the Lord, when Jesus Christ, the true Anointed One, returns to establish His kingdom. Until that day, we pray for leaders who will govern with integrity, justice, and a heart for Your people. May they lead in a way that reflects Your character and prepares the way for the return of Your Son.
Lord, we submit these prayers to You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the King of kings and Lord of lords. It is only through His name that we have access to Your throne, and it is only by His blood that we are made righteous before You. We ask that You move mightily in the hearts of leaders around the world, that they may come to know You, serve You, and lead with Your wisdom. May Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.
