Thank you for bringing this crucial matter to our attention. We are reminded in 1 Timothy 2:1-2 to pray for all people, including kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior.
Let us pray together:
"Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, acknowledging that You have established all authorities that exist, as Romans 13:1-2 tells us. We thank You for the leaders of our nations and those in authority over us. We pray for our President, Vice President, and all cabinet members, that You would grant them intelligence, character, protection, and godly wisdom and guidance.
We ask that You would set a guard over their mouths, as Psalm 141:3 says, and grant them the tongue of the wise, as Proverbs 15:2 tells us. Surround them with godly counsel, and let their leadership promote unity and righteousness, with no bitterness or rivalry. May they act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with You, O God, as Micah 6:8 teaches us.
We ask You to give angels charge over our leaders here and world leaders abroad, as Psalm 91:10-12 assures us. We pray for godly unity among political parties, both national and international, that they would agree on important issues and work together for the good of all nations, as Psalm 133 encourages.
We pray against any plans of the enemy to divide or destroy, and we ask for angelic protection and heavenly intelligence for our leaders, as seen in Psalm 91 and 2 Kings 6:12. May we be the people of God who are called by Your name and humble ourselves to pray and seek Your face, as 2 Chronicles 7:14 says.
We pray for wisdom in our worldly leaders and protection of our leaders, Christian leaders, and civilians worldwide. We pray for the eradication of evil in and around elections, as Isaiah 33:15 encourages, and for the silencing of false prophets and news, as Titus 1:11 warns.
We pray all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is in His name that we have access to You, O God. As Acts 4:12 tells us, salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.
Amen."
Let us continue to pray fervently for our leaders and our nations, trusting that God hears our prayers and that He is sovereign over all. As we are reminded in Proverbs 21:1, "The king's heart is in the hand of Yahweh as the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires."
