Thank you for bringing this crucial matter to our attention. It is indeed our biblical responsibility to intercede for those in authority, as instructed in 1 Timothy 2:1-2:
I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks, be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high places; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, humbly seeking Your will for our national and world leaders. We thank You for those You have placed in authority, as Your word reminds us that there is no authority except that which is from You (Romans 13:1-2).
Father, we ask for Your wisdom and guidance to be upon the President, Vice President, and all cabinet members. Grant them intelligence, character, and protection as they navigate the complexities of leadership. Set a guard over their mouths, as Psalm 141:3 says, and grant them the tongue of the wise, as Proverbs 15:2 tells us. Surround them with godly counsel, and let their leadership promote unity and righteousness, not bitterness or rivalry. May they act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with You (Micah 6:8).
We ask that You give angels charge over our leaders here and world leaders abroad (Psalm 91:10-12). We pray for godly unity among political parties, both nationally and internationally, that they may agree on important issues and work together for the good of all nations (Psalm 133). We rebuke any plans of the enemy to divide or destroy and ask for angelic protection and heavenly intelligence for our leaders (Psalm 91, 2 Kings 6:12).
Lord, we pray for wisdom among worldly leaders and protection for Christian leaders and civilians worldwide. We ask for the eradication of evil in elections (Isaiah 33:15) and for the silencing of false prophets and news (Titus 1:11).
May we, as Your people, humble ourselves, pray, seek Your face, and turn from our wicked ways, that You may hear from heaven, forgive our sin, and heal our land (2 Chronicles 7:14).
We pray all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved, the only name that has authority over heaven and earth. Acts 4:12
We ask for these worldly leaders to come to believe in Jesus Christ and to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior, to be born again, and follow Him. The message of salvation is simple:
If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. ...for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 10:9-10,13, WEB
In Jesus Name.
