Thank you for bringing this crucial matter to our attention. It is indeed our duty as believers to intercede for those in authority, as the Apostle Paul urges us in 1 Timothy 2:1-2, "I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks, be made for all people: for kings and all who are in high places; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved. We are grateful for the leaders and authorities You have placed over us, as instructed in Romans 13:1-2. We pray for wisdom, discernment, and a heart for Your will, that they would lead with godliness and humility.
Lord, we ask that You would set a guard over their mouths, as Psalm 141:3 says, and grant them the tongue of the wise, as Proverbs 15:2 tells us. Surround them with godly counsel, and help them to promote unity and righteousness, with no bitterness or rivalry. May they "do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God," as instructed in Micah 6:8.
We pray for angelic protection over our leaders, both here and abroad, as seen in Psalm 91:10-12. We ask that You would grant them heavenly intelligence and foil any plans of the enemy to divide or destroy, as seen in 2 Kings 6:12.
Father, we pray for godly unity among political parties, both nationally and internationally, that they would agree on important issues and work together for the good of all nations, as seen in Psalm 133. We pray against any corruption in elections and the silencing of false prophets and news, as seen in Isaiah 33:15 and Titus 1:11.
Lord, we ask that Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We humble ourselves before You, seeking Your face, as seen in 2 Chronicles 7:14. We pray for the eradication of evil and the protection of Christian leaders and civilians worldwide.
We pray all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Let us continue to pray fervently for our leaders and our nations, trusting that God hears our prayers and that He is sovereign over all. As we are reminded in Proverbs 21:1, "The king's heart is in Yahweh's hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires." Let us trust in the power of God to direct our leaders' hearts and bring about His will.
Keep praying, keep believing, and keep sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.
