Nasty personality and temper

We hear your cry for help, and we come before the throne of grace with you, seeking the Lord’s mercy and transformation. The struggle with a sharp tongue, a quick temper, and a troubled spirit is not uncommon, but it is not the path God desires for His children. Scripture tells us, *"A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger"* (Proverbs 15:1 WEB). When our words and attitudes become weapons rather than tools of love, we grieve the Holy Spirit who dwells within us.
First, we must acknowledge that this change is not something you can achieve in your own strength. The flesh wars against the Spirit, and only through surrender to Christ can true transformation occur. *"Walk by the Spirit, and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh"* (Galatians 5:16 WEB). The fruits of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—are not merely ideals; they are the evidence of a life yielded to God. If these are lacking, it is a sign that we must draw nearer to Him.
We rebuke the spirit of anger, bitterness, and strife that has taken root in your life. These are not from God. *"For the wrath of man doesn’t produce the righteousness of God"* (James 1:20 WEB). The enemy would love nothing more than to keep you bound in outbursts and regret, but we declare that chain broken in Jesus’ name. You were not created to be controlled by your emotions but to be led by the Spirit.
We also encourage you to examine your heart. Have there been unconfessed sins, unforgiveness, or areas where you’ve resisted God’s will? *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9 WEB). Sometimes, a bitter spirit is the result of unhealed wounds or unresolved conflict. The Lord invites you to bring these burdens to Him. *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest"* (Matthew 11:28 WEB).
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister who is struggling with a temper and a spirit that does not reflect Your love. Lord, we ask that You would break every chain of anger, bitterness, and harshness in their life. Fill them afresh with Your Holy Spirit, that they may bear the fruit of gentleness, patience, and self-control. We declare that the old has passed away, and behold, You are making all things new (2 Corinthians 5:17 WEB).
Father, we ask that You would heal any wounds in their heart that may be fueling this struggle. Where there is unforgiveness, soften their heart to release it. Where there is pride, humble them before You. Where there is unconfessed sin, grant them the courage to repent and receive Your cleansing. Lord, we pray that You would renew their mind daily through Your Word, that they may be transformed into Your likeness (Romans 12:2 WEB).
We also pray for accountability and godly fellowship. Surround them with believers who will speak truth in love, encourage them in their walk, and hold them accountable to live in a manner worthy of the calling they have received (Ephesians 4:1 WEB). Give them the strength to resist the enemy’s lies and to stand firm in Your truth.
Above all, Lord, we pray that You would be glorified in their life. May their words and actions reflect Your love and grace, drawing others to You. We thank You for Your faithfulness to complete the good work You have begun in them (Philippians 1:6 WEB). In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
