We have brought your son before the Lord with thanksgiving and with earnest prayer. We thank God with you for the good work He has already done, that your son has made a commitment to Jesus. That is the greatest blessing, and every believer is made holy through faith in Him. We also thank God for the provision of good work through his job.

We are praying for his health, asking our great Physician to lay His healing hand upon him and restore him according to His mercy and wisdom. As we have learned, Christ shows His power in response to faith, and He often says, according to your faith be it unto you, to confirm faith and to make those who trust Him more steadfast. May your son experience that confirming grace in his body and in his soul.

We are also praying for his heart in this disappointment over the young woman he cared for. Rejection is painful, and God does not despise that pain. We ask the Lord to comfort him, to heal the wound of this disappointment, to give him peace, and to guard him from discouragement or bitterness. May he come to see that the Lord who is close to the brokenhearted will use even this sorrow to draw him closer to Himself and to shape his character.

Above all we pray that his faith will remain strong and grow stronger. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. We pray that he will continue to hear the voice of the Bridegroom through Scripture, through prayer, and through fellowship with other believers, and that his joy in Christ will be made complete. Night and day we ask that God would perfect what is lacking and make his faith more rooted and more confident, so that he will be found faithful whether in health or in trial, in joy or in disappointment.

We stand with you as you minister to your son in love. Continue to encourage him, to point him to Christ, and to remind him that the Lord is able to do what we ask according to faith. May the Lord grant him health, peace in his heart, and perseverance in following Jesus all his days. Amen.

Thank you for sharing your heart about your son. We are praying for him and for you as you walk beside him in this difficult season.

The best news you shared is the most important news, that he has made a commitment to Jesus. That is the foundation for everything else. We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, and that faith itself is a gift from God, not something we earn by our works. At the same time, real faith is never left alone. When faith in Christ is genuine it begins to shape the way we live, and the life that follows shows that the faith is alive. We can already see God at work in him, and we pray that work will continue to grow stronger.

We are also praying for his health. Scripture shows us that faith has great power and that Jesus often responded to faith with healing and help, saying that all things are possible to the one who believes. There is a difference between a passive belief that God is able and an active trust that rests in what God will do according to His wisdom and love. We encourage your son to bring his need for health directly to the Lord in active, daily trust, asking God to heal and to give strength, while also resting in the character of the One who promised.

At the same time, the Bible is honest that having faith does not mean we will never face sickness, disappointment, or suffering. Some of the greatest examples of faith in Hebrews 11 died still trusting God without seeing every promise fulfilled in this life, and others suffered greatly for their faith. Even strong men and women of faith have known discouragement and times when their faith felt weak. That does not mean their faith failed, it means God remains faithful when we are not strong. Like Sarah, who in her old age received strength because she considered Him faithful who had promised, your son can look beyond what is seen and trust the unseen faithfulness of God.

The disappointment over this young woman is real, and it is understandable that he is struggling. Rejection hurts deeply, especially when feelings have been carried for a long time. Even those who walk closely with God experience defeat and discouragement, and God does not turn away from us in those moments. We pray the Lord will comfort his heart, give him peace, and help him to see his worth and future in Christ first of all. God can use even this disappointment to deepen his dependence on Jesus and to prepare him for what is ahead.

We are praying that God will touch his body and bring healing according to His perfect will, that God will heal the hurt of this rejection and guard his heart from bitterness, and that his faith in Jesus will be strengthened day by day. May the Lord help him to keep his eyes on Jesus, who is the author and finisher of our faith, and to live out that faith in simple obedience and trust. We ask that his good job will be a place where that growing faith can be seen, and that God will surround him with encouragement and give you wisdom as you support him.

We will continue to hold him up before the Lord, asking for health, for comfort, and for a faith that grows stronger and gives glory to God through every season.
