My son is ### years old and is undergoing health issues. He recently found out a girl he has had a crush on for years is dating someone else. My son is really struggling but he has a good job and the best thing is he has made a commitment to Jesus. Please pray for my son that he can get healthy, overcome the rejection from the girl and keep strong in his faith in Jesus.

We join with you in lifting up your son before the Lord and we thank God with you for the most important news of all, that he has made a commitment to Jesus. That decision is the foundation for everything else, for health, for hope, and for healing from disappointment. We rejoice that he has a good job and is seeking to be faithful, and we pray he will continue to grow strong in the Lord through this difficult season.

We know how painful rejection can feel, especially when feelings have been held for years, and we pray for the Lord to heal his broken heart and to guard his mind from discouragement. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3. We pray that your son will cast his cares on the Lord and experience the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guarding his heart and his thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.

We also lift up his health issues to our Great Physician. We pray for wisdom for doctors, for strength for his body, and for the Lord's healing hand upon him according to His will. For we know that He has said, I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds Jeremiah 30:17. We pray that even in weakness your son will learn to trust more deeply in Christ, remembering that My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness 2 Corinthians 12:9.

We encourage your son to keep trusting in the Lord with all his heart, and not lean on his own understanding, and in all his ways to acknowledge Him, and He will direct his paths Proverbs 3:5-6. This disappointment, though painful now, is part of the Lord shaping his character and preparing him for the future. We know that to those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose Romans 8:28. God has a good plan for a godly marriage in His timing, and we pray that your son will keep his heart pure and his eyes fixed on Christ as he waits. We believe marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman designed by God, and we pray the Lord will in His perfect time bring a godly wife who loves Jesus and will honor Him in marriage, and that any courtship would be with the goal of serving Christ together. For now we pray he will find his identity and contentment fully in Jesus rather than in any relationship, and that the Lord will turn this rejection into a deeper dependence on Him.

Father, we come together in Jesus name and lift up this young man to You. We ask You to touch his body and bring healing and strength, to comfort his heart and heal the sting of rejection, and to deepen his commitment to Jesus. Draw him close to You, strengthen his faith, give him joy in his work and purpose in each day, and help him to walk in purity and hope as he waits on Your plan for a godly marriage. Help his parent to have peace and wisdom to encourage him. We ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone gives us access to the Father and in whose name we are saved. Amen.

We hear how much you love your son and how heavy this season feels for him. Facing health problems is hard enough, and then carrying the disappointment of seeing someone he cared about for a long time choose someone else can make everything feel heavier. It says a lot that you notice both his struggles and the good gifts still in his life, his work and most of all his decision to follow Jesus.

It makes sense he is struggling right now. Rejection often hits harder when our bodies are not feeling well and our energy is low. That does not mean his faith is weak, it means he is human and needs steady support while he heals in different ways.

We are glad he has you in his corner. Continuing to listen without needing to fix it all, reminding him he is valued for who he is not just how he feels, and encouraging him to stay connected with other believers who know him can be a real help in the weeks ahead. And as he navigates the health issues, we encourage you to keep supporting him in staying in touch with his doctor and care team alongside prayer, so he gets good ongoing care.

Father, we lift this son to You in Jesus name. You see his body and his heart. Bring healing according to Your will, comfort him in this disappointment, and keep drawing him close to You. Give him strength for each day, peace in his identity in Christ, and supportive people around him. And give his parent wisdom and encouragement as they walk with him. Amen.

We have brought your son before the Lord with thanksgiving for the grace already shown in his life. To hear that in the midst of bodily affliction and the sorrow of rejection he has made a commitment to Jesus is cause for great rejoicing, for that faith, though it may feel small, is precious in the sight of Christ.

Christ loves faith and is delighted when a sinner clings to Him and says, I will not let You go except You bless me. Even faith as a grain of mustard seed is true faith, born from above, and it lays hold upon Christ who will never let it perish. He who has begun a good work in your son will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. The righteous shall hold on his way, not by his own strength, but by the faithful keeping of the Shepherd who declares, they shall never perish. Little faith, when it looks to Jesus alone and obeys His voice, is tenderly regarded by Him.

We have prayed that the Lord, who is the Sun of Righteousness with healing in His wings, would lay His healing hand upon your son. The leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and even the least thing about Christ has healing virtue. May the Lord restore him in body according to His wise and merciful will, and grant patience and hope in the waiting. May He also touch the wound of this disappointment and give comfort. Rejection is bitter, but faith teaches us to live upon Christ Himself, who is altogether lovely and who gives a hearty welcome to every trembling heart that embraces Him. May your son find his consolation not in what he has lost, but in the One who will never leave him, and may this trial drive him nearer to the Savior.

We have asked also for his perseverance in holiness, that he may not depart from the Lord, but be kept by the fear of God alive in his heart through hearing the Word, through prayer, and through communion with Christ. Faith comes by hearing, and holy fear comes through faith, so may he be diligent in the Word and be rooted and grounded in the everlasting covenant.

We thank God with you for the provision of good work and pray it may be a steady sphere for diligence and testimony. May the Lord make your son steadfast, strengthen his health, heal his heart, and keep him strong in faith to the end, and may you be comforted as you watch the Lord carry on His gracious work in him.

We will continue to remember him before the throne of grace.
