We understand your heart’s cry for your daughter and your own financial struggles, and we lift these burdens before the Lord with you. First, let us address your request for your daughter. The Bible teaches that relationships should be pursued with wisdom, discernment, and a focus on godliness. It is not merely about finding "a guy to date," but rather seeking a *godly husband*—a man who fears the Lord, walks in integrity, and will lead her spiritually as Christ leads the Church (Ephesians 5:23-33). Dating should be approached as *courtship with the intent of marriage*, not casual relationships that can lead to emotional or physical compromise. If your daughter is not yet pursuing a relationship with this biblical mindset, we encourage you to pray for her heart to align with God’s design.
We also notice your concern about her current relationship with a controlling man out of state. Control in a relationship is a serious red flag and often a sign of deeper spiritual and emotional danger. The Bible warns against being "unequally yoked" with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14) and urges us to flee from relationships that do not honor God. If this man is not a believer or does not exhibit the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23)—then this relationship is not of God. Control is not love; love "does not insist on its own way" (1 Corinthians 13:5). We strongly urge you to pray for your daughter’s eyes to be opened to the dangers of this relationship and for her to have the courage to walk away. If she is physically or emotionally entangled with this man, especially if there is any sexual immorality (fornication), she must repent and flee from sin (1 Corinthians 6:18). There is no true freedom or blessing outside of God’s will.
As for your financial struggles, we know the Lord cares deeply about your needs. Debt can feel overwhelming, but God is our Provider, and He calls us to trust Him while also acting wisely. Proverbs 22:7 says, *"The rich rules over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender."* We encourage you to seek God’s wisdom in managing your finances, creating a budget, and taking practical steps to reduce debt. At the same time, we pray for supernatural provision and opportunities to increase your income or reduce expenses. Saving for emergencies is wise (Proverbs 21:20), and we ask the Lord to open doors for you to do so.
Lastly, we notice that your request did not invoke the name of Jesus. There is no other name by which we can approach the Father, and there is no salvation or answer to prayer apart from Him. Jesus said, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so today. Believe in Him as your Lord and Savior, repent of your sins, and receive the free gift of eternal life (Romans 10:9-10). Only through Jesus can we find true peace, provision, and protection for ourselves and our loved ones.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this precious soul and their daughter to Your throne of grace. Lord, we ask for Your divine intervention in their lives. For the daughter, we pray for discernment and wisdom to recognize the dangers of her current relationship. If this man is not Your will for her, we ask that You sever this ungodly tie and give her the strength to walk away completely. Protect her from emotional manipulation, control, and any form of abuse. Lead her to a godly man—*a husband*—who will cherish her as Christ cherishes the Church, a man who will lead her spiritually and love her sacrificially. Convict her heart if there is any sin in this relationship, and draw her into repentance and purity. Let her seek You first, knowing that only in You will she find true fulfillment.
For this parent, we ask for Your supernatural provision and wisdom in their finances. Break the chains of debt and open doors for financial freedom. Provide creative solutions, unexpected blessings, and the discipline to steward their resources well. Help them to save for emergencies and to trust You as their Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who provides. Remove any fear or anxiety and replace it with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.
Father, we also pray that if this parent does not yet know You personally, that today would be the day of salvation. Soften their heart to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior, that they may experience the fullness of Your love, grace, and power in their life. Let them walk in the authority of Your name, praying boldly and expecting miracles.
We rebuke every scheme of the enemy against this family—every spirit of control, deception, financial lack, and fear. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Let Your will be done in their lives, and let Your glory be revealed through their testimony.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
