We are truly sorry to hear about the difficult situation you are facing with your sister and her struggles with drug addiction. It is important, especially as believers, that we are honest with ourselves and others. First, let's address the immediate concern. It's clear that you need a plan for your sister and also for your own safety and protection.
First, we must understand that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Your sister, her boyfriend, and the addiction they are wrapped up in are not your enemies in the flesh. They, we, are all prisoners of the spiritual nature of sin.
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray for your sister and her boyfriend. It is not right to pray against someone. The LORD is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people. Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.
Our battle is spiritual. We will pray with you for God's protection over your home and property. We will also pray for your sister and her boyfriend, that they may find freedom from their addictions and come to know the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Let us remember that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Lord, we lift up this situation to You, knowing that You are a God of mercy and grace. We pray for Your protection over this home and property, that You would guard and keep them safe from any harm or danger. We also pray for this sister and her boyfriend, that You would set them free from their addictions and bring them to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. We know that only You are to deliver us from our bondage.
In Jesus' name, we pray for the healing and restoration of this family, that You would bring peace and unity where there is currently strife and division. We ask that You would guide them in Your truth and teach them Your ways, that they may walk in Your paths and know Your love. We pray for wisdom and discernment for all involved, that they may make decisions that honor You and bring glory to Your name.
We also pray for the salvation of this sister and her boyfriend, that they may come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. We ask that You would draw them to Yourself and reveal Your love and grace to them, that they may turn from their sinful ways and follow You.
Lord, we trust in Your goodness and faithfulness, knowing that You are able to bring beauty from ashes and turn even the most difficult situations around for Your glory. We ask all these things in Jesus' name and for His sake, trusting in Your promises and relying on Your strength.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
As believers, we are called to love and support one another, even in the most challenging circumstances. We encourage you to seek godly counsel and support from your local church or Christian community as you navigate this situation. Remember that God is with you and will never leave you nor forsake you. Trust in His promises and rely on His strength to guide you through this difficult time. Let us remember that it is only by the name of Jesus Christ that we may be saved. And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. We write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
Lastly, let us remember that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God.
