Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for my son to be healed from a blood infection. He's been in the hospital almost three days. Also pray that he will hear the voice of God. He has been doing heroin for some time. And he could be doing meth too. I really don't know. He is not able to do drugs while in the hospital. I pray when he is released that he will not desire the drugs anymore. Thank you for your prayers.

We lift your precious son before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, knowing the deep pain and fear that must grip you as a mother watching your child suffer. Father God, in the name of Jesus Christ, we come before You with boldness, for You are the Great Physician and the only One who can bring true healing—body, mind, and spirit.

Lord, we first ask for Your mighty hand of healing over this young man’s blood infection. You word declares in Psalm 103:2-3, *"Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases."* We stand on this promise, believing that You are able to restore his health completely. Strengthen his body, Lord, and guide the hands of the doctors and nurses attending to him. May every treatment be effective, and may his recovery be swift and full.

But Father, we know physical healing is only part of the battle. This son is ensnared by the chains of addiction, and our hearts break for the bondage he is in. The enemy has deceived him into believing that drugs can fill the void only You can satisfy. We rebuke the spirit of addiction in Jesus’ name! The Word says in John 8:36, *"If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed."* We declare that freedom over him—freedom from the cravings, the lies, and the cycle of destruction. Lord, break every chain that binds him, and let him walk in the liberty of Christ.

We also lift up his spiritual condition, for this is where true transformation begins. Romans 10:17 tells us, *"So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."* Father, open his ears to hear Your voice. Speak to him in the quiet moments, through the kindness of hospital staff, through dreams, through Your Word, and through the prayers of his mother and others who love him. Let him encounter Your love in a way that pierces his heart and draws him to repentance. You are the Good Shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine to seek the one who is lost (Luke 15:4-6). Pursue him, Lord, and do not let him go until he knows You as his Savior and Deliverer.

We pray for the time when he is released from the hospital. May the detoxification his body is experiencing now be the beginning of a permanent break from these substances. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, Lord, so that when temptation comes—and it will—he will have the power to resist. 1 Corinthians 10:13 assures us, *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."* We claim this promise for him. Surround him with godly influences—people who will encourage him in his faith and hold him accountable. Provide a church family that will love him, disciple him, and help him grow in Christ.

And to you, dear mother, we want to speak a word of encouragement. Your prayers are powerful and effective (James 5:16). Do not grow weary in interceding for your son, even when the road seems long or the battle fierce. Galatians 6:9 reminds us, *"Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up."* You are not alone in this fight. The Lord sees your tears, hears your cries, and is working even now to draw your son to Himself. Trust in His timing and His perfect plan, even when it is hard to see.

We also want to gently address a truth that must be spoken: your son’s soul is in grave danger if he does not turn to Jesus Christ. The drugs are a symptom of a deeper spiritual sickness—sin. Romans 3:23 tells us, *"For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God."* But the good news is that God provided a remedy for sin through the sacrifice of His Son. Romans 6:23 says, *"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."* Your son needs Jesus—not just to heal his body or break his addiction, but to save his soul. There is no other name under heaven by which he can be saved (Acts 4:12). We must pray fervently that he surrenders his life to Christ, for this is the only foundation upon which true and lasting change can be built.

Heavenly Father, we come before You now in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the name that alone brings salvation and healing. We ask You to move powerfully in this young man’s life. Heal his body, break the chains of addiction, and most importantly, save his soul. Let him hear Your voice calling him out of darkness and into Your marvelous light. Surround him with Your angels, protect him from the enemy’s schemes, and fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.

We also pray for his mother—give her strength, wisdom, and unwavering faith. Help her to trust You even when the circumstances seem impossible. Let her experience Your comfort and presence in tangible ways. Provide her with a community of believers who will stand with her in prayer and support.

Lord, we know that nothing is too hard for You (Jeremiah 32:17). We believe that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). So we ask boldly: heal this young man, deliver him from addiction, and draw him into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. Let this hospital stay be a turning point in his life, a moment where he encounters Your grace and mercy in a life-changing way.

We seal this prayer in the precious blood of Jesus, trusting that You hear us and will answer according to Your perfect will. May Your name be glorified in this situation, and may Your kingdom come in this young man’s life. In Jesus’ holy and powerful name we pray, Amen.

We're right there with you, sister. We've been lifting your son up in prayer since we heard his cry for healing. We believe that God is a God of miracles, and we're claiming that over your son's life right now.

We're asking God to touch his body, to heal that infection and bring his strength back. We're asking God to guide the doctors and nurses caring for him, to give them wisdom and skill. We're believing for a swift and full recovery.

But we're also asking God to touch his heart. We're asking God to break the chains of addiction that bind him. We're asking God to fill him with a desire for freedom, to give him the strength to walk away from drugs and never look back. We're claiming Romans 6:22 over his life - "But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life."

We're asking God to speak to him, to open his ears to hear God's voice. We're asking God to reveal Himself to your son in a powerful way, to draw him into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. We're claiming John 10:10 over his life - "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."

We're also praying for you, dear mother. We're asking God to give you strength, wisdom, and unwavering faith. We're asking God to comfort you, to wrap His arms around you and let you know that you're not alone. We're claiming 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 over your life - "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God."

We're believing with you, sister. We're believing for a miracle. We're believing for healing, for freedom, for salvation. We're believing because we serve a God who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.
