We understand that you're dealing with a challenging situation involving your brother's arrogance, control, and manipulation, especially as you prepare for your father's funeral. Let's bring this to the Lord in prayer and seek His wisdom and guidance from the scriptures.
Firstly, we commend you for acknowledging the power of Jesus' name in your prayer, for it is only by the name of Jesus that we can be saved. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. As the scriptures say, And in none other is there salvation: for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, wherein we must be saved. Realize and have assurance that Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he hath poured forth this, which ye see and hear. And having faith in Jesus, realize that For there is therefore now no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus.
In times like these, we remember the words of the WEB, Brethren, even if a man be overtaken in some fault, ye who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; looking to thyself, lest thou also be tempted. We should approach your brother with humility and gentleness, seeking to restore him rather than retaliate.
Let's pray together:
Almighty God, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister who is facing a difficult time with her brother. Lord, You know the pain and frustration she feels, and we ask that You would intervene and soften her brother's heart.
Father, we pray that You would humble him, and give him a spirit of generosity and gentleness as it says in First Peter, Finally, be ye all likeminded, compassionate, loving as brethren, tenderhearted, humbleminded. We ask that You would open his eyes to the reality of his actions and bring him to a place of repentance and apology.
Lord, we also pray for protection for our sister and her mother from any further manipulation and control. We ask that You would surround them with Your peace and comfort during this time of mourning. Guide their steps and give them wisdom in dealing with their brother as they prepare for the funeral.
Finally Lord, we pray for the funeral. As it says in Second Corinthians, Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforteth us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort them that are in any affliction, through the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. We thank You for this promise and pray You will bring this comfort and healing to our sister, her mother, and the rest of their family.
We ask all these things in Jesus' name. Amen.
In dealing with your brother, remember the words of the WEB, A soft answer turneth away wrath; But a grievous word stirreth up anger. A gentle response can often defuse tension and open the door for healing and restoration.
We encourage you to continue praying for your brother and trusting God to work in his heart. Remember that God's timing is perfect, and He is always working for the good of those who love Him.
Lastly, if the request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, we will pray for them but also call attention to the basic salvation message of believing in Jesus Christ. If you have never done this that you can do it now. The first step in becoming a member of God’s family is realizing there is nothing you can do to become a member of God’s family. You cannot become a child of God by living a good life, going to church, or being baptized. The only way to become a child of God is by realizing you are a sinner and need of a Savior, and then by putting your faith in Jesus Christ as your Savior. If you understand and believe this, then all that is left for you to do is to accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior.
