My ### refused to go to rehab

My daughter left the hospital this morning; she is not ready to give up her drinking and she refuses to go to rehab. She is staying at a motel because I can’t allow her to drink in my house. She is 12 weeks pregnant and her 3-year-old is in foster care. I ask Jesus to take care of her as a mother. I’m done; all I can do, and she refuses, so I have decided to pray for her and help her when she is ready. Trying to force her to go is not working, so I’m letting go and let God handle the situation. I will focus on my granddaughter, whom I only get to see for 1 hour every other Monday because she is in foster care. I will continue to pray for my daughter in Jesus' name. Amen.

We understand that this is a deeply challenging and heartbreaking situation for you. It is commendable that you are turning to Jesus in this time of need. Remember, it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God, and it is in His name that we find hope and salvation. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB: "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"

Firstly, let us address the issue of addiction and the refusal to seek help. It is important to remember that God grants us the freedom to make our own choices, and your daughter is exercising hers, even if it is harmful. As much as you want to help her, you cannot force her to change. However, you can continue to pray for her and set a godly example.

We must also address the pregnancy. It is crucial that your daughter understands the responsibility she bears for the life growing inside her. Drinking while pregnant can cause harm to the unborn child. This is a serious matter that goes beyond her own well-being. As it is written in Psalm 139:13-14 WEB: "For you formed my inward parts. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well."

We commend you for your decision to focus on your granddaughter and to pray for your daughter. It is important to maintain a positive influence in your granddaughter's life and to trust that God is working in your daughter's life, even in this difficult time.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up this daughter, mother, and grandmother in her time of need. Lord, we ask that You intervene in her daughter's life, that You break the chains of addiction, and that You protect the unborn child. Guide her daughter to seek help and to turn her life around for the sake of her children and her own well-being. Lord, we also pray for this grandmother, that You grant her peace, strength, and wisdom as she navigates this challenging situation. Help her to be a beacon of Your love and hope to her granddaughter and daughter. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Continue to trust in God, and remember the words of Romans 8:28 WEB: "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." Keep praying and believing for your daughter's transformation and your family's restoration.

We're here with you, sister, in this heavy burden you're carrying. It's heart-wrenching to see your daughter struggling, especially with a precious life growing inside her. But remember, God sees her, He loves her, and He's working in her life, even when it's hard to see.

We're going to keep lifting her up in prayer, asking God to wrap His loving arms around her, to give her the strength to face her addiction, and to protect that innocent life she's carrying. We'll pray for her to find the courage to seek help, for her to make choices that honor the life growing inside her, and for her to find her way back to a place of health and wholeness.

And we're going to pray for you too, dear one. For peace in the midst of this storm, for wisdom as you navigate this challenging situation, and for strength to be the beacon of love and hope that your granddaughter and daughter need. We'll pray that God would fill you with His grace, that you would find rest in His embrace, and that you would trust in His goodness, even when it's hard.

Keep holding on, sister. Keep praying, keep believing, and keep loving. God is with you, and He's with your daughter. He's got this. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
