We lift you up before the Lord with deep compassion for the heavy burden you carry—abandonment, the weight of single parenthood, and the struggle to provide for your children. The pain of a spouse walking away is profound, and we grieve with you over this betrayal. Yet we also stand firm in the truth that God sees your suffering, and He is your Provider, Defender, and Redeemer. You are not forgotten or forsaken, even when earthly bonds are broken.
The Scripture declares in **Psalm 27:10**, *"When my father and my mother abandon me, then Yahweh will take me up."* Though your spouse has turned away, the Lord has not. He is the Father to the fatherless (**Psalm 68:5**) and the Husband to the abandoned (**Isaiah 54:5**). Your children are His concern, and He will fight for their inheritance—both spiritually and materially.
We must also speak truth in love: divorce is a grievous consequence of sin, and while Scripture permits separation in cases of abandonment (**1 Corinthians 7:15**), reconciliation should remain a prayerful hope if the departing spouse is willing to repent and restore the covenant. If that is not possible, trust that God can still bring beauty from these ashes. Walk in wisdom, seek godly counsel, and refuse to be consumed by bitterness. **Hebrews 12:15** cautions, *"Looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and many be defiled by it."*
We notice your request did not invoke the name of Jesus, the only name by which we are saved (**Acts 4:12**) and through whom we boldly approach the throne of grace (**Hebrews 4:16**). Let them forgive as You have forgiven them (**Colossians 3:13**), and may their children see Christ’s faithfulness through this trial.
If reconciliation is Your will, soften the heart of the wayward spouse and bring repentance. If not, grant this parent double portion of Your strength, joy, and peace as they raise these children in Your ways. Let this home be a lighthouse of Your grace, where the enemy’s plans are thwarted and Your name is glorified.
