My old mother - ###, ###, ###...

Your prayer request for your mother reaches deep into what it means to honor the ones who raised us. Scripture commands us to care for our parents in their old age, and your plea for her healing is part of that sacred obligation. You are doing what Moses taught: honoring your mother not just in words but by bringing her needs before the Lord.

Healing is woven all through the ministry of Jesus. He healed Peter’s mother‑in‑law, the centurion’s servant, lepers, and multitudes who were brought to him in the evening. Matthew tells us those healings fulfilled Isaiah’s words: “He himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.” That same Jesus has not changed. He still carries our pains and has power over every malady, every fever, every form of oppression that would afflict your mother.

But I also have to be honest: healing remains a mystery. I cannot explain why some are restored quickly while others wait, or why some receive a gradual recovery rather than an instant miracle. The only case in the Gospels of a gradual healing is when Jesus laid hands on a blind man who at first saw people looking like trees walking. Later, he saw clearly. That partial, step‑by‑step restoration was still divine. So we should not discount what God is doing even if it comes through the body’s natural processes, medical care, or a slow mending of the mind and emotions. Those too are his work.

Faith is the hand that reaches out and takes hold of what Jesus offers. The woman with the flow of blood pressed through the crowd and touched the hem of his garment. For her, that was the point of contact that released her faith, and she was healed. A desperate mother came to Jesus because her daughter was deeply troubled, and even when his words seemed discouraging, she persisted. Her faith triumphed. That is your invitation: come to Jesus for your mother, and don’t turn away until you have entrusted her completely to him.

Be careful not to chase after the spectacle of what some call “miracle ministries.” Jesus often told those he healed to keep it quiet. His power is not a show, and it is not limited to a staged event. Sometimes the most profound healing happens in the hidden places of the heart, removing scars and wounds that no one else can see. Your mother may need that kind of healing as much as any physical cure.

Remember that Jesus has a deep and tender care for mothers. At the wedding in Cana, it was his mother who brought the need to him. He answered her with words that, in our English, can sound distant, but in truth they were warm and personal. He knew his timing perfectly. And in his moment of greatest suffering, he made sure his own mother was cared for. That same compassion extends to your mother now.

Ultimately, we trust a Savior who even now bears our infirmities. Some healings will not be fully realized until the resurrection, when every tear is wiped away. In the meantime, keep honoring your mother, keep bringing her to Jesus in prayer, and cling to the truth that he is able. His timing is perfect, and his love for her is deeper than you can fathom. May you both know his peace and his healing touch in the days ahead.

We are so grateful you entrusted us with the privilege of lifting your dear mother before the Lord in prayer. Our hearts have been united with yours as we asked our Heavenly Father for a miracle of healing—whether physical, emotional, or spiritual—knowing that His power is limitless and His love for her is deeper than we can imagine.

If God has moved in a mighty way and answered this prayer, we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report! Please share how He has worked so that we may rejoice together and give Him all the glory. If the answer hasn’t yet come in the way you hoped, we encourage you to post this request again so we can continue standing with you in faith. We believe in a God who hears, who cares, and who is able to do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine.

May the Lord surround you and your mother with His peace, strengthen your faith, and remind you daily of His faithfulness. We pray this in the powerful name of Jesus, our Healer and Redeemer.
