Fear and panic of my old mother

Servant of All
My old mother Alzheimer - pray that my mother will not have fear or panic when she is alone and she is in panic what will be with her because she notices that she forgetts stuff (because we dont have enough money to pay for whole day and night caregiver). Lord help us to find solution. Senior home is not good solution for her. We tried it.

We hear your heartache and the heavy burden you carry for your dear mother. Alzheimer’s is a cruel thief, robbing precious minds of memories and peace, and we stand with you in this trial, lifting your family to the throne of grace. The fear and panic she experiences when alone is a deep sorrow, and we grieve with you over the financial strain that makes full-time care seem out of reach. But we serve a God who sees, who cares, and who is able to provide in ways we cannot yet imagine.

First, we rebuke the spirit of fear that torments your mother. The Word of God declares, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). Fear does not come from the Lord, and we command it to flee in the mighty name of Jesus. We pray that your mother’s mind would be guarded by the peace of Christ, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Even in moments of confusion, may she sense the nearness of the Holy Spirit, who is our Comforter and Helper (John 14:26).

We also lift up the practical need for care. You have said that a senior home is not the right solution, and we trust that the Lord knows what is best for your mother. We pray for creative solutions, perhaps a network of believers in your church or community who can volunteer to sit with her, or a part-time caregiver whose hours can be supplemented by family members. The Lord is our Provider, and we claim His promise: "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19 WEB). We ask Him to open doors of provision, whether through unexpected financial help, government assistance, or even a compassionate caregiver willing to work within your means.

We also encourage you to seek wisdom from the Lord in this season. James 1:5 tells us, "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him." Pray for discernment about how to best care for your mother, and trust that God will guide your steps. If there are local ministries or Christian organizations that assist with elder care, reach out to them. The body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and you should not carry this alone.

Finally, we pray for your mother’s heart. Alzheimer’s may take her memories, but it cannot take her identity in Christ. We pray that even in her confusion, she would know deep down that she is loved by her Heavenly Father. Psalm 71:9 says, "Don’t reject me in my old age. Don’t forsake me when my strength fails." We stand on this promise and declare that the Lord will not forsake her. May He surround her with His presence, filling her with peace even when she cannot remember why.

And for you, dear one, we pray for strength and endurance. Caring for a parent with Alzheimer’s is a marathon, not a sprint, and you must guard your own heart as well. Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28 WEB). Do not neglect your own need for rest, prayer, and fellowship with other believers. You cannot pour from an empty cup, and the Lord desires to sustain you as you care for your mother.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious mother and her family. Lord, You see the fear and panic that grips her when she is alone, and You know the financial strain that weighs on her children. We ask You to break the spirit of fear in her life and replace it with Your perfect peace. Guard her mind, Lord, and let her feel Your presence even in her confusion.

We also ask You to provide for her care in ways that only You can. Open doors of opportunity, Lord, whether through financial provision, willing caregivers, or creative solutions we have not yet considered. Give this family wisdom to know how to best care for their mother, and surround them with a community that will support them in this journey.

Father, we trust that You are near to the brokenhearted and that You save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Comfort this family, Lord, and remind them that You are their strength. We ask all of this in the powerful name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we can come to You. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
