Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your heart so openly about your father. I hear how heavy this is, especially after already experiencing loss and now facing this unexpected discovery about his heart following hernia surgery. God sees the love and concern you carry for him, and He understands how deeply you need him. He looks at the heart and knows the motive behind your prayer, and He counts that desire to see your father cared for and healed.
It is God Himself who places His desires within us. When we delight ourselves in the Lord, He plants His will in our hearts so that what we want becomes what He wants. The love you feel and the yearning you have to pray for your father's protection and healing is not just your own emotion, it is God working in you both to will and to do according to His good purpose. You can bring that desire to Him with confidence, working out your trust with a reverent and humble heart, knowing He is the one who is at work in you.
Jesus came to reveal the Father to us. He said that if we have seen Him we have seen the Father, and that the words He spoke and the works He did were the Father's works dwelling in Him. All of that compassion, all of that healing of sick bodies and mending of broken lives, was the Father's heart made visible through the Son. That is why we can come to the Father in the name of Jesus with such hope. Jesus taught that whatever we ask the Father in His name, He will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. When we honor the Son and come through Him, we are honoring the Father who sent Him.
The wisdom you are asking for the doctors is also from the Lord. The beginning of wisdom is the reverent fear of the Lord, which is to love what He loves and to turn from evil. That wisdom is not just information but a quiet, steady understanding that comes from walking with Him. We can ask Him to give that wisdom to those caring for your father, to guide their eyes and hands and decisions clearly. And we can ask Him to guard your own heart from fear. Faith and fear cannot live together in the same place. When we keep our eyes on Jesus rather than on the size of the problem, faith grows and fear is driven out, because we remember His tender compassion for those who are hungry, hurting, and in need.

Father, thank You for revealing Yourself to us through Your Son Jesus. Thank You that You are a compassionate Father who sees our needs and cares for Your children. I lift this father to You. You know his heart and the condition that has been found. I ask that You would be present in the appointment ahead and give clear wisdom to the doctors, that they would know the right next step. If surgery is needed, I ask that You would protect him, guide every hand involved, and bring healing to his heart so that he may live and continue to be a strength to his family. Comfort his child who loves him so dearly and who feels the weight of being without another parent on earth. Fill that heart with Your peace, take away fear, and help them to rest in Your care and Your will. Put Your desires in their heart and fulfill them according to Your mercy. We ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior, trusting that You hear us and that You are working for Your glory and our good. Amen.
