We stand with you in lifting up your husband before the Lord, knowing that our God is a God of comfort, healing, and deliverance. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). The depression and nightmares your husband is enduring are not of God, for He is the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). The Bible tells us to cast all our anxieties on Him because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7), and we declare that your husband will find his refuge in Christ alone.
The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We pray that Jesus will surround your husband with His peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and break every chain of darkness that seeks to bind him. May the Lord rebuke the enemy who is tormenting him, for greater is He who is in your husband than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). We ask that the Lord would restore his mind, renew his strength, and fill him with the joy of His salvation (Psalm 51:12). May he experience the deep, restful sleep that comes from the Lord (Psalm 4:8), free from nightmares and fear.
We also lift you up, dear sister, for you are carrying this burden with him, and the Lord sees your love and devotion. You are asking for wisdom, and we know that if any of us lacks wisdom, we should ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach (James 1:5). May the Lord grant you the discernment to love your husband in the way he needs, to speak life into his spirit, and to be a vessel of God’s grace in his life. As his helper (Genesis 2:18), may you be strengthened by the Holy Spirit to walk beside him with patience, kindness, and unwavering faith.
The Bible reminds us that two are better than one, for if one falls, the other can lift them up (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10). We pray that your marriage would be a testament to God’s faithfulness, that you would both draw closer to Him and to one another through this trial. Let this season be one where you seek the Lord together, where His Word becomes your foundation, and where His promises are the light that guides you.
We also encourage you to ensure your husband is surrounded by godly support—whether through his church, trusted believers, or professional counsel that aligns with biblical truth. Depression can be a heavy burden, but it is not one that must be carried alone. The body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and we urge you to reach out for help if needed.
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, lifting up this precious husband and wife. Lord, You are the Great Physician, the Healer of broken hearts and the Restorer of souls. We ask that You would touch this man with Your healing power, that You would quiet the storms in his mind and fill him with Your peace. Break every stronghold of the enemy and let Your light shine into every dark place. Give him rest, Lord—true rest in You.
We pray for his wife, that You would equip her with Your wisdom, Your strength, and Your love. Help her to be a source of comfort and encouragement, and let her words and actions reflect Your heart. Bind them together in unity, and let their marriage be a reflection of Your covenant love.
We rebuke the spirit of depression and fear in the name of Jesus. We declare that no weapon formed against this man shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that he will walk in the freedom and victory that Christ has already won for him. Let him know, deep in his spirit, that he is loved by You, that he is valued, and that his life has purpose in Your kingdom.
Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your faithfulness and Your timing. May Your will be done in their lives, and may You receive all the glory. In the mighty and precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
