My Lists

Disciple of Prayer
Please pray that the last two months in this year go perfect and smooth for me and that I will be able to buy everything on my lists or that I add to my lists. Then please pray that I will make it and be ok to next year and that all of our lives will continue on really good throughout next year and the next years to come.

God’s plan for salvation survived a deadly threat so we might have hope and eternal life.
We hear your heart's desire for these last two months of the year to go smoothly, for provision to obtain what you need, and for life to continue well into the next year and the years ahead, and we join together with you to bring this before the Lord.

We want to gently encourage you to align these desires with God's will and His perspective on provision and the future. It is good to have plans and lists, but Scripture reminds us that our lives and our days are in His hands and not our own to guarantee. You desire that everything go perfect and smooth, yet God has not promised a life without difficulty, but He has promised to work all things for good for those who love Him and to be with us through every season. James 4:14-15 says, Whereas you do not know what will be on the next day. For what is your life? For you are a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. For you ought to say, If the Lord wills, we will both live, and do this or that. And Prov 16:9 says, A man's heart plans his course, but Yahweh directs his steps.

We also want to lovingly address the focus on buying everything on your lists. God delights in providing for His children, and Phil 4:19 assures us, My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Yet we are called to seek contentment and to guard our hearts against covetousness and the love of material things. 1 Tim 6:6-8 says, But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we certainly can't carry anything out. But having food and clothing, we will be content with that. And Matt 6:33 teaches us, But seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Our prayer is not just that you would obtain everything you desire, but that your desires would be shaped by Him, that you would delight in Him first, and that you would find joy and peace whether the lists are fully completed or not. Psalm 37:4 says, Also delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Phil 4:11 says, Not that I speak because of lack, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content in it.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We share this in love because it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only through His name that we are saved. John 14:6 says, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and confess Him as Lord. Rom 10:9 says, that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name we pray and have confidence that God hears us.

So we pray together for you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You on behalf of this dear one. We thank You that You are sovereign over every day, every month, and every year. We ask according to Your will that You would grant peace and steadiness in these final two months of this year, and that You would provide for every true need. Give wisdom in stewardship, help to use resources faithfully, and grant contentment and gratitude whether much or little is obtained. Guard this heart from anxiety and from finding identity or joy in possessions, and help to seek first Your Kingdom. We ask for Your mercy to carry us into the next year if it is Your will, for our times are in Your hands, and we pray for health, protection, and Your continued goodness in the years to come. Above all, draw this one closer to Jesus, deepen faith and trust in You, and let Your perfect will be done in every plan and every list. We trust Your good plans, for Jer 29:11 says, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. And we rest in Rom 8:28, We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus, amen.

Please pray that the last two months in this year go perfect and smooth for me and that I will be able to buy everything on my lists or that I add to my lists. Then please pray that I will make it and be ok to next year and that all of our lives will continue on really good throughout next year and the next years to come.

Also pray that I will be able to keep everything I buy or whoever I buy things for will be able to keep them, including the Holy Bible for my friend. Pray that no one will break in and steal any of my belongings or anyone else's belongings.

We're grateful you shared this with us. Wanting these last two months to go smoothly and to be able to provide for yourself and your loved ones is a very human hope, and wanting to look ahead to next year with peace makes sense too.

We know you mentioned wanting everything on your lists to work out just as you hope. Life rarely goes perfectly smooth, and that can feel disappointing when you have worked hard to plan. What helps us keep steady is remembering hope is more than getting every item checked off, it is trusting that God is with us whether a list gets completed or needs to wait, and that He cares about both our needs and our peace as we walk through each day.

One small thing that might help is to take a quiet moment with your lists and sort them into what is most needed now and what could wait, then bring each part to God honestly and make a simple plan for the next weeks as you are able. That can make the waiting less heavy.

Father, in Jesus' name we bring this friend to You. Provide for their needs according to Your wisdom, give them peace in these final weeks of the year, keep them and their loved ones in Your care, and lead them day by day into the year ahead. Give them rest and confidence that You are near. Amen.

Thank you Heavenly Father for blessing us with another day, and for all you do for all of us. All glory and honor belongs to you Father. I lift this prayer up on your glory Father God and ask that you grant your perfect will. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17‬:‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

We have heard your desire for these closing months to be smooth and for provision for the things you have listed, and for health and continuance in the years to come, and we bring you before the Lord with sincere care.

The Scripture gently corrects the way we speak of the future. James writes, you know not what shall be on the morrow, and we are taught to say, If the Lord will, we shall live and do this or that. To count upon a perfect and smooth path, or to boast of what we shall buy or do in months to come, is folly, for there are two certainties about the future, that God knows it and we do not. We ought not to pry into it nor presume upon it, but to leave it in His wise hands and attend to present duty with faithfulness.

So also we are reminded that a man's contentment is in his mind, not in the extent of his possessions. Alexander with all the world at his feet cried for another world to conquer, while the believer learns, in whatsoever state he is, therewith to be content. To have every item upon a list will not of itself give peace, for contentment is a flower of heaven that must be cultivated by grace. It is far better to seek that God would give you a contented heart, a prudent stewardship of what He provides, and gratitude whether He gives much or little.

Our Savior says, do not be anxious about your temporal affairs. Be prudent, be diligent, and then leave the result with God. Anxiety confined to ourselves brings no good, but prayer that tells the Lord all and rests upon His fatherly will brings quietness. Your times are in His hands, and His thoughts toward you are precious, constant, kind and wise. He knew you before you were born and He knows your unspoken words even now.

Therefore our prayer for you is not that every wish be granted exactly as you have framed it, but that the Lord's will be done in your life. We pray that if the Lord wills, He would grant you health and keep you in the coming year, that He would provide for your true needs according to His goodness, that He would teach you contentment in Christ whether you abound or are in want, and that He would deliver you from fretfulness and boasting about tomorrow.

Above all we pray that you would know the only sure foundation for this year and for all years to come, which is salvation through Jesus Christ alone. His blood cleanses from all sin, and where God begins a good work He completes it. To trust in Him as the sinner's Savior is to have a hope that stands when lists fail and years turn, a hope that reaches beyond this life into eternity.

May the Lord grant you grace to trust Him, to do the right thing each day, and to rest your future, both for these two months and for all the years He may give, upon His faithful promise that they who trust Him shall lack no good thing that His wisdom sees fit to give.
