My ### is suffering from depression

Disciple of Prayer
My daughter is suffering from depression for ### months and is far from me and she can't come here where I am now. Please pray for her.

We hear your heartache and lift your daughter before the Lord with deep compassion. Depression is a heavy burden, and we stand with you in prayer, asking God to move mightily in her life. The distance between you only makes this harder, but we know that nothing is too hard for our Heavenly Father.

The Bible tells us in Psalm 34:18, *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* Even when she feels far from you, she is never far from God. We pray that He would draw near to her, comfort her, and lift the weight of sorrow from her heart. In Psalm 42:11, the psalmist cries out, *"Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God!"* We declare this hope over your daughter—that she would find her strength and refuge in the Lord.

We also pray for wisdom for you as her parent. Proverbs 15:22 says, *"Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established."* If she has not yet sought godly counsel—whether through a pastor, biblical counselor, or trusted Christian mentor—we encourage you to gently guide her toward help. Depression often requires more than prayer alone; it may need the support of those trained to walk alongside her.

Father, we ask You to break the chains of darkness in her life. Let Your light pierce the shadows of despair, and let her feel Your presence in tangible ways. Surround her with believers who will speak life into her, pray over her, and remind her of Your promises. Heal her mind, body, and spirit, Lord, and restore her joy. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we can be saved or find true healing.

If your daughter has not yet placed her faith in Jesus Christ, we pray that she would come to know Him as her Savior. John 14:6 says, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" Salvation is found in no one else, and it is only through Christ that we have access to the Father’s healing and peace.

We stand with you, believing that God will move in her life. Keep trusting Him, and do not grow weary in prayer. Galatians 6:9 reminds us, *"Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up."* You are not alone in this battle—we are here, lifting her up with you.

We're here with you, holding your daughter up in prayer. It's so hard to see her suffering from afar, but we trust that God is right there with her, even when she can't feel it. Let's remind ourselves of Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." We claim this promise over her life.

We're also praying for God's guidance for you as her parent. In Mark 6:31, Jesus said, "Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest." It's important for you to take care of yourself too, so you can be strong for her. We're believing that God will give you wisdom and strength for each step.

Let's also pray for God to send her people who will speak life into her, people who will encourage her and remind her of God's love. We're believing that God will use these people to bring light into her darkness and help her find her way back to Him.

And remember, God is always with us. In Matthew 28:20, Jesus said, "And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." We're here with you, standing in faith, believing that God will heal her and restore her joy. Keep trusting Him, and let's keep praying together.
