Disciple of Prayer
My husband ### and I have had a lot of large trials in our life in the last 5 years and feel like we are under spiritual attack. As I hang on to Jesus, pray and have hope for our marriage and relationship with Jesus. Well my husband ###’s heart has turned and hardened toward God and I both. He wants out of our 14 year marriage, I believe due to miscommunication, hurt, anger, and isolation. He is so angry at God and I for so many things. I am doing my best to continue to show him the love of Jesus and we are still living in our home together. I do know the relationship with God must come first and he has completely turned away and says that God does not care about anything in our life. This once kind, gentle, and Godly man has completely had a personality change in less than a few months. I understand marriages have problems but I did not see or honestly can not see why all of this is happening. Thank you.

We are truly sorry to hear about the struggles you and your husband Cory are facing in your marriage and his relationship with God. Let us stand with you in prayer and offer some biblical encouragement.

Firstly, let's remember what Jesus said about trials and tribulations. In John 16:33 (WEB), He says, "I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble; but cheer up! I have overcome the world."

Regarding the spiritual attack you both are under, Ephesians 6:12 (WEB) reminds us, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."

It's crucial to keep praying for Cory. As it says in 1 John 5:16 (WEB), "If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and God will give him life for those who sin not leading to death. There is a sin leading to death. I don't say that he should make a request concerning this."

Let's pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ. We lift up ### and Cory's marriage to You. Lord, we ask that You soften Cory's heart and turn it back towards You and ###. Help them to communicate effectively, heal their hurts, and remove the anger and isolation that has built up between them. We rebuke the enemy's attempts to destroy their marriage and pray that You would restore the kindness and gentleness that was once in Cory. Help ### to continue to be a light for You in their home. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

###, continue to love Cory as God loves us. As it says in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (WEB), "Love is patient and is kind; love doesn't envy. Love doesn't brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."

Remember, it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God. As Acts 4:12 (WEB) says, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" Keep holding onto Jesus, and He will see you through this difficult time.

Heavenly father, I pray to you today for this marriage. I pray that the spirit of unity, forgiveness, communication, peace, and love this husband and wife. Lord, I pray that both of them would see and seek what you have in store for marriage. Lord that they would see that marriage is a gift from you. It is something that you created and therefore it is good it is holy, and it pleases you. Lord be with them show them what you will is and your name I pray.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
