We are joining with you in prayer over this concerning situation with your health insurance and your responsibility for your mom, and we thank you for asking in the name of Jesus, for it is through Him we have access to the Father.
We understand how heavy this feels when you are trying to honor your mother and be a good steward as her power of attorney, and now you are facing questions about your name being on her checking account and the fear that it could affect your own ability to get medical help. We see your heart to do what is right and we know God sees it too. Scripture reminds us, Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you Exodus 20:12. Taking on this role is a faithful act of love and responsibility, and God honors that.
We also hear the worry and anxiety this has brought, and we want to encourage you to bring that burden to the Lord. We are reminded, Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7 and, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. He is your provider and your healer, and we trust Him to supply what you need, for My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19.
We pray together for you now. Heavenly Father, we lift our dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You know the details of this insurance question and the concern about the checking account and power of attorney. We ask for Your favor and clarity, that there would be no hindrance to needed medical help and that the insurance questions would be answered with truth and understanding. Grant wisdom to those reviewing the case and to our friend, for if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5. Give peace in place of fear and guide every conversation and every piece of paperwork. Help this stewardship of a mother's affairs be done with integrity and with clear records, and let it be understood that this responsibility is to help and not for personal gain. We ask that You protect both health and finances and that Your will be done, and we thank You that we can come boldly before Your throne through Jesus our Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to keep careful documentation that shows your role is as power of attorney and that the funds belong to your mother, and to speak clearly with your health insurance caseworker about how they count those funds. It may also be wise to seek counsel from a trusted legal aid office or elder care advisor who can explain how to keep accounts properly titled so your own eligibility is not affected, while still honoring your duties to your mom. Keep seeking God first and trusting His provision as you walk through these practical steps, and we will continue to pray that the Lord opens the right doors and guards your health and peace.
