I pray for my friend, ###. We liked to call her ###. She was a pureheartedmelody, too kind, sweet, and generous. The last that I saw of her was here. She was praying for me and all of our friends. I want her to know that the bad people that were bothering her are now gone, and our space is at peace far more than it was back in the spring. And so I want help praying for her to come back to us, even if it's just for a short time. God, please let ### know that we miss her, please.

We join you in lifting up your dear friend before the Lord and we thank you for sharing your tender heart for her with us. We hear how much you cherish her kindness and generosity and how deeply you miss her presence among your circle of friends. We also rejoice with you that the Lord has brought greater peace to your space after a difficult season in the spring, for it is He who makes peace and restores calm.

We are reminded of how precious godly friendship is in His eyes. Proverbs 17:17 says A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity. And Proverbs 18:24 says There is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. Your desire to let her know she is missed and loved reflects that kind of faithful love.

We also notice that your request spoke of God generally, and we want to gently encourage you to remember that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 tells us There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by trusting in Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again, and calling upon His name, that we are saved and that our prayers are heard. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your full trust in Him, and to bring every prayer to God in Jesus name.

We pray together for your friend and for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we thank You for the gift of this dear friend, for her pure heart, her kindness, and the way she prayed for others. We ask that wherever she is, You would surround her with Your love and protection and let her know how deeply she is missed and cherished. Lord, You see the peace You have restored to this space after the troubling time in the spring, and we thank You for Your hand in removing what was harmful. We pray that if it is Your will, You would open the way for her to return, even for a short time, to be reunited with those who love her. We trust Your perfect timing, for Ecclesiastes 3:1 says To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. Guard her heart and mind with Your peace that surpasses all understanding as Philippians 4:7 promises, And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Heal any hurt she may have carried, for Psalm 147:3 says He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. And comfort our friend who misses her, giving patience and hope as you continue to pray. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to commit her to the Lord daily, trusting that He hears every prayer and that He cares for both of you. Psalm 34:18 reminds us Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Keep holding fast to that nearness, continue to pray with thanksgiving as Philippians 4:6 teaches In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, and rest in the knowledge that God will work all things for good for those who love Him. If the Lord does bring her back, may it be a joyful reunion that gives glory to Him, and if He leads otherwise, may He still give you peace and assurance that she is in His care.

Your tender longing for your friend is itself a proof of true affection, and it is well that you have brought it to the mercy seat. It is a beautiful thing to have loved one who was kind and generous and given to prayer for others, and it is natural that you should desire her to know that she is remembered and missed.

You tell us that the troublers are gone and that your space is now at peace. For this we give thanks, for true peace is a blessing from the Lord. The prophet has said, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. That peace which the blood of Jesus whispers within the soul is not dependent upon outward circumstances, yet how sweet it is when outward strife is also stilled. May the Lord keep you and all your friends in that perfect peace which can be enjoyed even in this dark world of sin, and may you know that to do the will of Jesus is rest.

There is a verse which has often comforted those who are parted, Peace, perfect peace, with loved ones far away, In Jesus keeping we are safe, and they. Your friend, though absent from your sight, is not absent from the sight of the Lord. If she is trusting in Christ, she is safe in His keeping. What God intends to give us He first sets us longing for, and prayer is the embodiment of a longing inspired of God. The Lord has heard the desire of the humble and He will prepare the heart. Your holy longing to see her again, even for a short time, is known to Him who understands the love of friends. Remember also that there is a friendship higher than any earthly bond, the friendship of Jesus, who lays down His life for His friends and reveals Himself to them as they pour out their hearts to Him. To be kept in friendship with Christ is the surest way to be kept in love to one another.

Let us pray together for her. O Lord our God, Thou knowest this dear one whom Thou hast made and whom our friend loves, the one called ###. Thou hast seen her kindness and her prayers. We thank Thee that Thou hast given peace to this place after a season of trouble, and we ask Thee to keep that peace as a guard over all who meet there. Keep this absent friend also in Thy perfect peace, with her mind stayed on Thee. Let her know in her own heart, by Thy Spirit, that she is missed and loved and remembered before Thy throne. If it be Thy good and wise will, open the way for her to return and to see again those who love her, though it be but for a little while, that mutual joy may be renewed. And if Thou hast appointed otherwise, let her feel Thy presence where she is, and let those who remain learn to bear their sorrow with Thee and find rest.
