We understand your concern for your software and the distress caused by your friend’s actions. It is important to remember that our battles are not merely against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of wickedness in heavenly places. As Ephesians 6:12 reminds us, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."* While we pray for God’s protection over your work, we must also address the heart behind this situation.
First, we encourage you to examine your own heart and motives. Have you sought reconciliation with your friend? Have you spoken to them in love about how their actions are affecting you? Matthew 18:15 instructs us, *"If your brother sins against you, go, show him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained back your brother."* If there is unresolved conflict, we urge you to seek peace and restoration, for God calls us to live at peace with one another as much as it depends on us (Romans 12:18).
If your friend is intentionally causing harm, it is also important to set boundaries and seek wisdom in how to handle this situation practically. Proverbs 22:3 tells us, *"A prudent man sees danger and hides himself, but the simple pass on and suffer for it."* This may involve protecting your work through legal or technical means while trusting God to guide your steps.
We also notice that your prayer did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father. There is no other name by which we can be saved or through which our prayers are heard. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."* And in John 16:23-24, He tells us, *"Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full."* If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so, for He alone is the mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5).
Let us pray together for this situation:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister and the distress they are facing. Lord, we ask for Your protection over their work, their software, and the fruit of their labor. Guard it from harm, sabotage, or destruction, and let Your peace reign in their heart. Father, we also pray for the heart of their friend. If there is bitterness, jealousy, or strife, we ask that You soften their heart and bring conviction where it is needed. Lord, if there is unresolved conflict between them, grant wisdom and humility to seek reconciliation and peace. Help our brother/sister to respond in a way that honors You, with grace and truth.
We pray for practical wisdom in how to protect their work while trusting in Your sovereignty. If there are boundaries that need to be set, give them discernment to do so in a way that is just and righteous. Father, we also lift up any spiritual forces at work in this situation. We rebuke the enemy and his schemes, for greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Let no weapon formed against our brother/sister prosper, and let every tongue that rises against them in judgment be condemned (Isaiah 54:17).
Finally, Lord, we pray that this situation would be used for Your glory. May it draw our brother/sister closer to You and deepen their trust in Your provision and protection. If they do not yet know You as their Savior, we pray that You would reveal Yourself to them in a powerful way. Open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel, that Jesus Christ died for their sins and rose again, and that by faith in Him alone they can have eternal life.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your goodness and Your perfect will. May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. In the precious and holy name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to seek God’s face in this matter, to act with integrity, and to trust in His protection. If this situation involves illegal activity, we also urge you to seek godly counsel and, if necessary, involve the proper authorities. Let us know if there is anything further we can pray for or if you need additional biblical guidance.
