We join you in bringing your desires for favor, for a godly marriage, for a home and for provision before the Lord, and we thank you for invoking the blood of Jesus, for it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. As it is written, There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 1 Timothy 2:5 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. We rejoice that you have called upon His name.
We hear your heart crying out for a Boaz, for a man who will take excellent care of you, for a home, for favor and for open doors, and we pray with you for God to provide a godly husband and a marriage that honors Him. We want to lovingly speak truth into some of the ways this request is expressed so that your pursuit aligns with Scripture.
The Boaz of Scripture was a man of godly character who honored Ruth, protected her purity, and pursued marriage in an honorable and public way according to God's law Ruth 3:11, Ruth 4:10. He did not seek or find his wife through casual dating or through staying the night together before marriage. If your desire to get to lonewolf once a week and stay the night means spending the night with a man who is not your husband, or having intimacy outside of marriage, we must lovingly rebuke that, for God calls us to flee sexual immorality. As it is written, Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Corinthians 6:18 and Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers Hebrews 13:4. A boyfriend and girlfriend relationship in God's eyes is courtship with the goal being marriage to another Christian believer, not cohabitation or overnight stays. We encourage you to not be unequally yoked with unbelievers 2 Corinthians 6:14 and to seek a spouse who is a faithful follower of Christ, and to pursue that relationship with purity and accountability.
We also gently address the language of Tinder, winning, and luck. Being urgently found on Tinder and seeking to not be hidden is understandable, but we encourage you to guard your heart and your witness. Many dating apps can encourage casual, appearance based and even sexually immoral connections rather than godly courtship. We pray you will seek God's guidance above an app, trusting that He sees you and will bring a godly spouse in His perfect timing. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6.
There is no bad luck or good luck in the life of a believer, but rather the providence and favor of God. For you will bless the righteous. Yahweh, you will surround him with favor as with a shield Psalm 5:12. True favor is not about always winning money, dinners, cruises and deals, though God does provide for our needs. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well Matthew 6:33. Godliness with contentment is great gain 1 Timothy 6:6. We pray that your desire for hundredfold favor would be rooted in obedience and faithfulness to Him, not in chance.
You quoted Deuteronomy 28:13, Yahweh will make you the head, and not the tail. You will be above only, and you will not be beneath, if you listen to the commandments of Yahweh your God Deuteronomy 28:13. This promise in context was given to Israel upon obedience to God's voice, and for us today it reminds us that true exaltation comes through walking in His ways, not through demanding wins. We pray you will walk in obedience so that His blessing rests on you.
We also lift up your practical needs for a home, for protection with a gate and wall and garage, and for help from others to build. We know God cares about our dwelling and our safety, and we ask Him to provide according to His wisdom and timing, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11.
We pray together now.
Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You together and lift up this dear daughter to You. We ask that You surround her with Your favor as with a shield and lead her in purity and wisdom. If it is Your will, bring into her life a godly man after Your own heart, a true Boaz who loves You first, who will pursue her for holy marriage, who will honor her and take excellent care of her as Christ loves the church Ephesians 5:25. Help her to wait on You and to pursue courtship that honors You, fleeing all fornication and keeping the marriage bed undefiled. Give her discernment regarding how and where she seeks a spouse, and let her not be hidden from the godly husband You have for her if it is Your will, but let her be found in Your way and Your timing. Provide for her needs for a home and for provision according to Your riches, and teach her to seek first Your Kingdom. Let her find her identity and security not in winning or luck, but in being Your beloved child, the head and not the tail as she walks in obedience to You. Forgive any sin and cleanse her by the blood of Jesus, and let Your perfect will be done in this chapter of her life. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.
