I was sick and neglected by my family. My sister lied and turned everyone against me. I pray the truth comes out and exposes all the fake Christians, First Lady’s, and preacher in the family. The jealousy is gross. Help me not think about them or need them again. I want to be free and never deal with them again. What did I do wrong? Why do they get away with hurting me? I am scared and afraid. I am alone. How can they be so ugly to me and lie so much? I hope they need me before I need them and soon. Why are they acting like I am wrong? I want to forget about these nasty people. I pray I can get out of this situation. Why do they hate me and pretend to love You?

We hear your pain and the depth of your hurt, and we are lifting you up together before the Lord. To be sick and feel neglected by your own family, to have a sister lie about you and turn others against you, is a deep wound. It is understandable that you feel scared, alone, and confused, asking what you did wrong and why this is happening. We want you to know that God sees you, He has not forgotten you, and He is close to you in this suffering.

The Lord knows the truth even when people believe lies. Nothing hidden stays hidden forever, for there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light Luke 8:17, and whatever you have said in the darkness will be heard in the light Luke 12:2. We pray with you that truth will come to light in God's perfect timing, not for revenge but for justice and healing. God sees every lie and every act done in jealousy. Where jealousy and selfish ambition are, there is confusion and every evil deed James 3:16, and a tranquil heart is life to the flesh but envy is rottenness to the bones Proverbs 14:30. We also hear your pain about those who claim to be Christians yet act with jealousy and ugliness. The Lord warned that not everyone who says to Him Lord, Lord will enter the Kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of His Father Matthew 7:21, and we will know them by their fruits Matthew 7:16. We must be careful not to judge the heart as only God can, but we can discern actions that do not reflect Christ, and we grieve with you over that hypocrisy.

We also want to gently and lovingly correct something in your request because we care for your soul. You shared a desire that they would need you before you need them and that you want to forget these nasty people. We understand that comes from deep hurt and a longing for vindication, but God calls us to a different way. Vengeance belongs to Him alone. Do not seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19. Instead we are called to love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you Matthew 5:44, and to overcome evil with good Romans 12:21. To hold onto bitterness and a hope for their suffering will keep you in bondage. See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God, that no root of bitterness springs up to trouble you and thereby many are defiled Hebrews 12:15. True freedom, which you are longing for, comes when we release them to God, forgive as God in Christ forgave us Ephesians 4:32, and let Him be our vindicator. Forgiveness does not mean what they did was right, and it does not always mean immediate restoration of close fellowship without repentance, but it does mean we choose to let go of hate and entrust justice to God so our hearts can heal.

You asked what did I do wrong and why do they get away with hurting you. Sometimes suffering is not because you did something wrong. The psalmists and Job cried out the same questions. People may act unjustly and for a time it seems they get away with it, but God is just and He will judge every work Ecclesiastes 12:14. They have not gotten away with anything in His eyes. You also asked why they act like you are wrong and why they can lie so much and still pretend to love God. The heart can be deceitful and people can deceive themselves, but God is not mocked. We encourage you to release the need to figure out every why and to bring those whys to the Lord, casting all your worries on Him, because He cares for you 1 Peter 5:7.

You said you are scared and afraid and alone. You are not alone. Even if family forsakes you, the Lord will take you up Psalm 27:10. He has promised Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid nor be dismayed, for Yahweh your God is with you wherever you go Joshua 1:9, and Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3. When fear rises, remember God says Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. And In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.

You also long to not think about them or need them again and to be free. God can give you that freedom, not through hatred or dwelling on them, but through turning your thoughts to Him. We pray you can take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:5 and think on whatever is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, and of good report Philippians 4:8. Your greatest need is not for them, but for Him, and He will supply all your need.

We noticed your prayer refers to God as You but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We say this in love because there is no other way to the Father. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God and forgiveness of sins. If you have not already, we encourage you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for with the heart one believes resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation Romans 10:9. We come to God not on our own merit but through the blood of Jesus.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You together in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear one who is sick, wounded, betrayed, and afraid. Lord, You see the lies that were told, the neglect that was felt, the jealousy that has caused so much pain. We ask You to be their healer, their protector, and their comfort. Heal their body and bind up their broken heart. Let Your truth be revealed in Your time and Your way, and let justice be done according to Your righteousness. Lord, take away fear and the feeling of being alone, and fill them with Your perfect love which casts out fear, and with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Help them to cast every burden on You and to find that You will never leave nor forsake them Deuteronomy 31:6. Father, we ask You to free them from bitterness, from the desire for revenge, and from constant thoughts of those who hurt them. Teach them to forgive as You forgave us, to bless those who have hurt them, and to entrust all vengeance to You. Create in them a clean heart and renew a right spirit within them. Lead them away from needing the approval of people and into a deep dependence on You. Guard their mind and help them to think on what is true and pure. Expose what is false and bring conviction where it is needed, and help all involved to walk in genuine repentance and holiness. Above all, draw them closer to Jesus, that they may know Him as Savior and Lord, and find their identity and security in Him alone. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and our peace. Amen.

We heard how heavy this has been for you, and we are so sorry you have carried sickness and neglect and then felt turned against by your own family. When a sister's words change how others see you, it is deeply disorienting, and it makes sense you are asking what you did wrong, why the hurt seems to go unchecked, and why you feel so scared and alone right now.

You are not wrong for wanting peace and freedom. Wanting to stop rehearsing the hurt and not feeling you have to need people who have harmed you is an understandable desire for wholeness. Your worth is not measured by how you have been treated.

Part of moving toward that freedom is sorting what is yours to carry and what is not. Boundaries are like a property line for the heart. They help us name what we are responsible for, our own thoughts, choices, time and energy, and what we cannot control, even when we long for truth to be seen quickly. Learning to let your yes be yes and your no be no can preserve freedom in relationships, including the freedom to step back when contact feels unsafe or overwhelming.

One gentle next step that has helped others in a lonely season like this is to identify one or two safe people outside the family, a trusted pastor, counselor, or small group in a local church, and meet with them regularly. Steady community and worship can slowly ease isolation, not by pushing you back into hurtful dynamics, but by giving you a place where you are known and supported while you heal.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus' name. You see the pain, the loneliness and the fear. We ask You to draw near, guard their heart, provide safe companionship and wise counsel, and lead them step by step toward healing and freedom according to Your will. Amen.

Your sorrow has been poured out before the Lord and He has heard the cry of one who has been sick and forsaken and wounded in the house of friends. To be neglected in sickness, to have a sister turn the hearts of kin against you, to be lied about and counted as wrong when you have sought to do right, this is a bitter affliction. And to feel alone and afraid, to wonder what you have done and why such unkindness should prosper, this is a heavy burden indeed. The Lord sees it all, and not one tear nor one false word has escaped His notice.

You ask what you did wrong and why they seem to get away with hurting you. Know this, that sin is deeply rooted in the heart of man, and jealousy and lying and unkindness are fruits of that fallen nature. It is not that God approves their way, nor that He has forgotten you. The Scripture declares that judgment is with the Lord, and though He may for a time allow the heart to be brought down with labour, He will in His own season bring truth to light. Vengeance belongs not to us, but to Him who judges righteously.

Think also of our Lord Jesus, for He was betrayed by one very near to Him, and that betrayal was ordained that sin might reach its culminating point and that atonement might be completed, and that our great High Priest might be able to sympathize with us in every point. He knows what it is to be lied about, to be hated without cause, to be forsaken by those who should have loved Him. You are not alone in this sorrow, for He has walked this way before you and He is near to the brokenhearted.

There is a word which the Lord would have you hear above all others in this hour, and it is this, There is forgiveness with Thee. The Scriptures say, I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions for Mine own sake. This is a divine forgiveness, surprising and complete, not dealing with us as our sins deserve, but blotting out the record and nailing it to the Cross. If you tremble and shake for fear and with a penitent heart desire forgiveness, come and put your trust in Christ, for the Gospel gives absolute forgiveness to every repenting and believing sinner. Do as Luther did when in dark distress, and say, I believe in the forgiveness of sins, and believe it for yourself. First forgiveness, then healing, for when Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He first said, Son, be of good cheer, thy sins are forgiven thee. Pardon and healing are joined together, and with forgiveness there comes the removal of the consequences of sin, for the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick, when the Lord dwells with him.

And because you have received such full and eternal forgiveness, you are called to live in that same spirit toward those who have wronged you. It is a joint work of mutual forgiveness, forgiving one another even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. This does not mean that what was done was right, nor that you must pretend that lies are truth, nor that you must place yourself again under harm. But it does mean that you must not cherish the desire that they should one day need you and be brought low before you, nor give your heart over to bitterness and to the thought of exposing them for your own vindication. Leave the revealing of truth to God, who will make all things manifest in His time, and pray for those who have despitefully used you, that they also might find forgiveness.

The desire to be free and to think no more upon those who have wounded you is understandable, yet true freedom is not found in nursing hatred or in vowing never to deal with them again in anger, but in entrusting them to God and finding healing in Christ. The leaves of the tree of life were for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. His leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. Come to Him daily for that healing, for He not only forgave at the first all our sins, but He continues daily to forgive, and the act of forgiveness is a continuous one.

You are not alone, though you feel alone. There is forgiveness with God, and there is healing with God, and there is a Friend that sticketh closer than a brother. Seek Him in His Word, pour out your heart in prayer, and seek the fellowship of faithful believers who will walk with you in truth and love. Tell the Lord your fear, for He is your refuge, and ask Him to keep your heart from despair and from the desire for revenge, and to fill you with His peace.

May the Lord grant you present forgiveness through faith in His Son, and with that forgiveness may He grant you healing, and may He keep your heart in perfect peace as you trust in Him. May He be your portion when family fails, and may you find that where sin abounded, grace doth much more abound.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your pain has been heard, and your honest questions have not gone unnoticed by God. To be sick and neglected, to be lied about and turned against by your own family, is a wound that cuts deeper than any hurt from strangers. Scripture itself shows this. The apostle Paul wrote in his suffering that all men forsook him, and he named that abandonment as a grievous thing, because to be despised by strangers is one thing, but to be betrayed by friends is far heavier. Even our Lord was betrayed not by an outsider but by one of the twelve, with a kiss, and He knew beforehand what Judas would do. He was innocent and meek, yet He was still betrayed. Your suffering does not prove that you did something wrong.

You ask what you did wrong and why they act as if you are wrong. Often the answer is not in your failure but in their own heart. One of the homilies reminds us that envy is so dark that even a demon does not envy another demon, but a person will envy his own family. When jealousy takes root, it can make people lie and pretend, and call themselves Christians while acting with cruelty. Jesus said woe to the one by whom betrayal comes, and though it may look for a time as if people get away with hurting others, God sees every lie and every hidden motive. He will bring truth to light in His time. It is right to pray for truth to be revealed, but place that judgment in God's hands rather than carrying the burden of making it happen yourself.

You also shared two desires that pull against each other, to be free and to forget them, and at the same time to hope they will need you soon. That conflict is understandable when you have been hurt and left alone and afraid. The desire to be free is good and God honors it. True freedom will not come from seeing them brought low, but from releasing them to God and no longer being bound by bitterness or by the need for their approval. To forgive does not mean to say what they did was right, or to put yourself back into harm. It means to hand over vengeance to God, who judges righteously, and to ask Him to heal your heart so their jealousy no longer controls your thoughts.

You are not alone, even when you feel alone and scared. Christ knows what it is to be forsaken, and He has promised never to leave those who trust Him. He allows painful divisions to test and refine us, as He said He came to bring a sword of division when loyalty to Him conflicts with loyalty to family, not because He delights in family strife but because following Him will sometimes expose false profession. Your safety and peace matter. It is wise to seek healthy boundaries, to seek a faithful pastor or counselor and a caring church family who will walk with you, pray with you, and help you not to live in fear.

God calls us to walk with all lowliness and meekness and long suffering, not lowly only toward those who are kind to us but with a gentle spirit that rests in Him. Ask Him to replace constant thoughts of them with thoughts of His mercy, to calm your fear with His presence, and to heal your body and spirit after being neglected.

Let us pray for you. Father in heaven, You see this wounded child of Yours who has been sick, lied about, and forsaken by family. You know the truth when others believe lies. Comfort this hurting heart, take away fear, and remind them that they are not alone for You are near. Bring what is hidden into the light in Your perfect time and in Your perfect way. Heal the pain of betrayal, break the power of jealousy and envy at work in this family, and bring each one to repentance and true faith in Jesus Christ, through whom alone is salvation. Grant freedom from bitterness, grant peace that guards the heart, grant wisdom for boundaries, and grant a faithful community to support and protect. Teach them to trust You to defend and to provide, and to rest in Your love. In the name of Jesus, who was betrayed for us and who lives to intercede for us, amen.
