My family in grief

Father, please bless my brother and sister. Lord I know our daddy has gone on to be with you in heaven, and I ask that you help my brother and sister to cope with the pain in their heart. The stroke took him from us so quickly. Lord I know we never wanted him to leave us and I know he is in a good place with you, but I ask you Lord to help my family get through this grief. Ease their pain and put peace in their life. In Jesus name Amen.

Blessed Savior: I seek your comfort for this family who has lost their daddy today. Bless them with a deep and abiding love for you and for each other that will give them the strength they need to endure this. Provide for them through each other and bless them with a closeness like never before. In Jesus name, Amen.

Father, please lift the veil of sorrow from their eyes. Allow them to see their father as You did - vibrant, healthy, joyous and free! It is hard to part with the earthly vessel, Lord, but we thank You for our knowledge that death is not the end. It is but a mere passageway to our real and lasting home, forever with You. May their memories comfort them, may Your peace fill them. Draw them close to one another and build their faith through Your grace. We give You praise for the warm welcome this father received as he entered Your kingdom. Amen.

Father, I ask that You would be with this family in their time of sorrow. Lord, it is a time when the soul is there with You in glory and if we could only understand it through Your eyes it would be like the song they sung at my own mothers funeral, "this is not a sad day, this is a glad day." But Lord, it is sad for us to not have them around us, to not hear their voice, to not be able to talk about everyday things with them. I just pray that You would comfort their hearts, surround them with love, be with them as they cry, and remind them of the home that You have prepared for us. I pray that You would encircle them with love as they take these first lonely steps, and keep them safely by Your side. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
