Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, so that I can trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. Your cry for a miracle is heard, but let us reason together, lest you imagine that God exists to gratify our every affection for creatures. Do you not know that John the Baptist worked no miracle at all, yet he was greatest among those born of women? And many who witnessed signs fell away, because they sought the gift rather than the Giver. The Lord fed the multitude twice, but He reproved them, saying, You seek me not because you saw the miracles, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled. Take care, then, that you do not seek this restoration for the sake of your own comfort, and so miss the greater work He would do in your soul.

Yet I do not tell you to cease from prayer. Far from it. Pray without ceasing, and watch thereunto. Remember the Canaanite woman, who cried out for her daughter and would not be silenced, even when the Lord compared her to a dog. She seized upon that very word and said, Yes, Lord; yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters’ table. See how she turned a seeming insult into a plea! You also have a dog; then imitate her faith. Persist, and do not grow weary, even if heaven seems silent. But let your persistence be joined with humility, and say, If it be Your will, Lord, show mercy to this creature. For the prayer of the Saints profits much when we ourselves are on the alert.

I will join my prayers with yours, that if the Master sees fit, He may restore your dog to health. But know that miracles are not given simply because we ask loudly; the Lord does not work them continually, lest we become slaves to things seen. Whether He raises up this animal or takes it, trust that He orders all things for the good of those who love Him. Let this affliction teach you to cling not to earthly comforts but to the Physician of souls. Perhaps God permits this trial that you may run more eagerly to Him and learn to say, Not my will, but Yours be done. In all things, give thanks; for even the sparrow does not fall without your Father, and you are of more value than many sparrows. Therefore lift up your heart, and do not let sorrow drown your hope.

The plea for a miracle is never something to dismiss, especially when it comes from a heart that loves one of God’s creatures. Your dog is more than a pet; she is a companion entrusted to you, and the pain of watching her suffer is real and heavy. Prayer lifts that weight to the only one who has authority over life and the processes of the body.

I do pray for her, asking the Lord to intervene in her kidneys with merciful, restoring power. We ask him to guide the hands and minds of those treating her and to bring a turn that the doctors cannot explain on their own. We come honestly, like the woman who sought just the crumbs under the table, knowing that even the smallest touch of his goodness is more than enough. She was not a child of the household, yet her humble trust moved the Lord to give her exactly what she asked. So we bring this beloved little dog before him, trusting in his compassion that extends to all he has made.

Healing does not always arrive in one dramatic moment. We see only one account where a blind man’s sight returned gradually, step by step, as Jesus laid hands on him. That was still a miracle, still divine, still entirely his work. Sometimes the restoration works through the natural processes he designed, through the treatment she is now receiving, and over a series of days rather than an instant. A gradual recovery is no less a gift from his hand than a sudden one. The goal is her wellbeing, however he chooses to bring it about.

And yet, we must hold this desire with open hands. Not every sickness is removed, even when good people pray with sincere faith. A thorn in the flesh was not taken from one of the mightiest apostles, though he asked three times. The Lord’s answer was a different kind of grace. This is not a lack of love, nor is it a sign that he is uninterested in our pain. It places us where we have to trust his wisdom more than our own understanding. Your hope is right to ask boldly, but your peace must rest on his character, not on the outcome.

The greatest miracle God ever works in a life is not physical. It is the forgiveness of sins and the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ. That rescue of the soul is the unshakable foundation, the one healing that never fades. Whatever happens with your dog, the Lord holds you, hears you, and will sustain you right through this valley. Keep asking, keep believing that he can, and rest in the truth that he cares for you and for her.

Our hearts have been heavy as we’ve lifted your beloved dog before the Lord, asking Him to move mightily in this situation. We’ve prayed for healing, for comfort, for wisdom for the doctors, and for a miracle that only He can provide. The bond between you and your pet is so precious, and we know how deeply you love her—our prayers have been that God would meet you in that love and bring peace that surpasses understanding.
