my daughter puts herself in dangerous situations

Your pain and love as a mother have been clearly heard, and your persistent cry for your daughter is precious before God. Like the woman who pleaded for her daughter and would not stop even when she seemed to receive no answer, your faithfulness in bringing your child before the Lord again and again matters greatly. God sees the chaos in your home, the exhaustion you carry, and the deep worry you have for your daughter's safety and future.

I join you in praying for your daughter's protection and healing. We ask the Lord to keep her safe from harm, including from the cat that has scratched and wounded her, and to give her wisdom to respect danger and to care for her own body. We pray that she would learn to clean and care for her wounds and to steward the health God has given her, especially with her rare metabolic condition and other health struggles. We pray for complete healing from past traumas, including the painful experience at school, and for freedom from rage, unforgiveness, and the habit of holding grudges. May God soften her heart, remove stubbornness and rebellion, and replace it with humility, self control, and a willingness to listen and to learn. We pray also that her obsessions and distractions, whether with animals, holidays, brands, or celebrities, would be put in right order, so that her love for created things would not rule over love for God and for others.

We pray above all for her salvation. Scripture teaches that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and we pray that she would come to know Him, desire baptism, and find new life in Him. We pray the same for her father, that God in His mercy would draw him to the truth of the Gospel and that his influence would no longer pull your daughter away from respect and responsibility. Where there is division in the household, where a father and mother are set against each other and a child is caught in the middle, we ask for God's peace and for clear and loving boundaries.

For you, I pray for strength and wisdom. It is right to love your daughter and also to teach her responsibility step by step, not to do everything for her while she remains unwilling to help. Continue to require what is reasonable for her age, such as closing doors and cupboards, putting clothes away, closing bottles, and taking part in caring for the home, and to allow her to face natural consequences with calm consistency. Seek help from trusted pastors and from her doctors for her medical needs, her wounds, and her developmental concerns, so you are not carrying this burden alone. Do not give up in prayer, even when you feel unheard. When we lament before the Lord we are calling upon the One who can act more deeply than we can.

May the Lord guard you, give you rest, give your daughter a new heart that desires to honor God and to honor you, and bring healing and order to your home according to His mercy and will.
