We join with you in prayer concerning your brother and your own heart in this matter. We do not have many details about what you mean when you say your brother made medicine and is very rich, but God knows all things and hears the cry of your heart. We want to lift both you and your brother before the Lord together.

We are reminded in Scripture that wealth itself is not sinful, but the love of money and envy can lead us away from God. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows, 1 Timothy 6:10. And we are taught to find our contentment not in riches but in Christ, Keep your life free from the love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you, Hebrews 13:5. We also hear the call to seek first Gods kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you, Matthew 6:33. Whether your brother is using his work in medicine for good and to help others, or whether there is temptation toward pride or greed, we pray that God would guide him to use what he has been given with integrity and compassion, and that you would be kept from comparison or covetousness.

We also notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We gently and lovingly want to remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only through Him that we are saved. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. If you have not yet put your trust in Jesus, we encourage you to believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead and confess Him as Lord, for if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved, Romans 10:9. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We thank You that You know this dear one and You know their brother. Lord, we ask that You bless the work of his hands if he is indeed making medicine, that it would be done honestly and would bring healing and help to those who need it, and not be used for selfish gain. Give him wisdom and humility and a heart to steward wealth for Your glory and to help those in need. For this dear one who has asked for prayer, we ask that You fill any need, worry, or feeling of lack in their heart with Your peace. Help them to trust You to supply every need according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:19, and to learn contentment in whatever situation they are in. Draw them both closer to Jesus, that they may know Him as Savior and Lord and find true riches that do not fade. We ask that Your will be done in both of their lives and that You would be glorified. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We have heard your brief request and we take it at once to the throne of grace. We thank God for any skill He has given to men to make medicine for the healing of the body, and we will pray for your brother that his work may be made useful for good and not merely for gain, and for you that the Lord will supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

There is a temptation when a brother prospers and becomes very rich to allow the heart to be moved with envy or with a restless desire for the same portion. Remember that a man's contentment is in his mind, not in the extent of his possessions. Alexander, with all the world at his feet, cries for another world to conquer, while a poor man with grace in his heart may be more truly wealthy than a prince. Contentment is one of the flowers of heaven, and if we would have it, it must be cultivated. It does not grow without sowing and watering.

I beseech you, in your humble sphere, cultivate contentment. Be not idle. Seek, if you can, by superior skill, steady perseverance, and temperate thriftiness, to raise your position, and do all as unto the Lord. At the same time, hold fast the profession of your faith without wavering, for true riches are not in gold but in knowing Christ, through whom alone is salvation. He is alive, our familiar Friend, and He overcomes the world not by force but by the constancy of His love.

Let us pray together. Lord, reveal Your marvelous loving kindness to this soul, so as to give high joys and ecstasies of delight in Yourself rather than in earthly wealth. Grant contentment while tribulation lasts as well as when it has closed. Give grace to rejoice in a brother's prosperity without covetousness, to overcome all envy with good, and to trust Your wise and predestinating care which orders all things well. Bless the work of his hands to the relief of suffering, and bless this dear one with daily bread, honest labour, and a heart satisfied in Christ. Keep us both faithful until we see Your face, for Jesus sake. Amen.
