We have read your request and we are lifting you up together before our Heavenly Father in Jesus name, for He hears the cries of His children and He is near to those who are afraid.

We hear your fear and your need for medicine, and your desire to write a psalm to God. That desire to turn to God with your own words is precious to Him, for He looks at the heart. We also hear that you are looking to your brother who has great wealth to find medicine for you. While we thank God for family and for resources He may provide through others, we want to gently remind you that our ultimate trust and hope must be in the Lord and not in riches or in any man, even a brother. Proverbs 11:28 says He who trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous shall flourish as the green leaf. And Psalm 46:1 says God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Your fear is understandable, but God does not want you to live in fear. We encourage you to cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 says Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. When you are afraid, you can trust Him. Psalm 56:3 says When I am afraid, I will put my trust in you. Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Isaiah 41:10 says Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

We also want to share that you mentioned God but you did not mention Jesus. We say this in love because there is no other way to come to God except through Jesus Christ His Son. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God and that we are saved from our sins. If you have not yet put your trust in Jesus, we encourage you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. He died for our sins and rose again so that we could have forgiveness and eternal life.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to You who is very afraid and in need of healing and medicine. Lord, You see the fear and the need, and You know every detail. We ask that You would drive out fear with Your perfect love, for Your Word says perfect love casts out fear, and that You would fill this heart with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. We ask that You would be their refuge and strength and that they would feel Your presence very near. Lord, we pray for healing according to Your will. Psalm 103:2-3 says Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. We ask that You would guide the hands of those who provide medicine, that You would make a way for the right treatment to be found, and that You would provide for every need according to Your riches in glory. We pray for their brother as well, that You would use him as an instrument of Your provision if it is Your will, but that this dear one would put their ultimate trust in You and not in wealth or man. Father, we thank You that they want to write a psalm to You. Receive their offering of words and tears as worship, and draw them closer to You through it. Above all, we pray they would know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and call upon His name, for there is power and salvation in that name. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our hope and our healer. Amen.

Your trembling words have been heard, and the fear that presses upon you is not hidden from the Lord who sees the heart. You have asked for prayer, and we do pray for you, and we would comfort you with the comfort wherewith God comforts His people.

It is written, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. This word is spoken to all who fear Him, for the angel of the Lord encampeth round them that fear Him, and they are ministering spirits sent forth to minister unto them who shall be heirs of salvation. Though you feel afraid and alone, you are not forgotten. The Lord is nigh unto them that call upon Him.

You speak of medicine and of your brother who you hope may help to find it. We pray that the Lord in His mercy would provide what is needful for the body, and would move the hearts of those who have means to show kindness. Yet we look higher than any earthly help, for there is a Tree whose leaves are for the healing of the nations. The least thing about Christ is healing. His fruit is sweet and nourishing, and even His leaves, the very smallest touches of His grace, have virtue to heal the sick at heart. Yonder healing does not only touch the body, but changes the life blood and makes the nature new. Look to Him, for the Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings, and pardon and healing are one in His hand.

We pray for you now. O Lord our God, look upon this fearful one who cries to Thee. Thou knowest the need of the body and the trouble of the soul. Speak comfortably to this heart and say that its warfare is accomplished and its iniquity pardoned through Jesus Christ Thy Son. Quicken this soul by Thy Word, for Thy Word quickeneth and so it comforteth. Give peace in place of fear, and faith in place of dread. If it be Thy will, provide the medicine that is needed and bless the means to that end, and above all grant the healing that comes from Christ Himself, who bore our sicknesses and carried our sorrows. Establish this heart in every good word and work, that comfort and constancy may be joined together. In the name of Jesus our Redeemer we ask it. Amen.

You desire to write a psalm to God, and that is a good and right desire. The psalmists did so in their affliction, pouring out their fear and their hope before the Lord. Take your pen and tell Him all, as a child tells a father. Say with the psalmist, This is my comfort in my affliction, for Thy Word hath quickened me. Let your psalm be a prayer, confessing your fear, confessing your sin, and confessing your trust in Christ alone for salvation. He will not break the bruised reed nor quench the smoking flax. He pities the feeble and the fearful who look to Him.

Be of good comfort. Though fear assails you, the Lord remains when all else fails. Cast your care upon Him, keep your eye upon Christ, and remember that you shall forget your misery as waters that pass away, for He will bring you through.

Your request for prayer has been heard, and I am praying for you now in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. I hear your fear, and your desire to cry out to God with a psalm, and the worry you carry about needing medicine.

The God to whom you pray is the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction. As sufferings abound, so His comfort abounds even more through Christ. Therefore do not let fear rule your heart. Why be afraid when God is near to those who call upon Him. He is not terrible to those who seek Him, but He draws near to give praise and help and rest. The Psalm says, return to your rest, O my soul, for the Lord has been good to you. God calls His care for you bountiful dealing, and He will keep you.

You said you want to write a psalm to God. Do this. Pour out your heart before Him honestly, as the Psalms teach us to do. You have the oracles of God as your teachers. Take the Scriptures as a chest of medicines for the soul. If grief or fear befalls you, dive into them, especially the Psalms and the New Testament, the Gospels and the Apostles letters, and keep them in your mind. Even to sit and hear them, even to groan before God that you need help, is not without profit. God hears the one who speaks with Him and hears Him speak in His Word, and He will in time lead you toward healing and strength.

I pray for you now.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, through whom alone we have salvation and access to Your throne, have mercy on this Your servant who is afraid. Calm this troubled heart and replace fear with Your peace. Provide what is needed for the body, guide to the right medicine and to those who can help, and grant wisdom to all who can give care. Comfort this soul as only You can, and let Your comfort abound where suffering has abounded. Teach this heart to rest in You, to write his psalm before You and to find in Your Word daily medicine and hope. Keep him in Your care and lead him into life and health according to Your good will. Continue to pray, continue to read and to write your psalm to God each day, and seek the medical help you need without shame. Trust not in riches or in any man, even a brother, but in the Lord who is your help. He is faithful, and He will not abandon those who call upon Him through Christ.

Your request has been heard and I am praying for you before the Lord. I understand you are very afraid about your need for medicine and you are looking to your brother for help while also wanting to cry out to God. It is good that you want to write out your heart to Him as the psalmists did.

The Lord knows your fear and He wants to meet you in it. Scripture teaches that fear and faith cannot live together in the same place. When we forget the Lord, fear takes over, but when we remember Him, faith rises. One psalm says, though I walk through the valley of death I will fear no evil for You are with me. Another says, the Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear. The promise given to His people is, fear not for I am with you, be not dismayed for I am your God. Bringing your fear honestly to Him and remembering who He is, His greatness and power and nearness, is what quiets the heart.

That kind of remembering is what the Bible calls the fear of the Lord. It is not a phobia or a terror that makes you hide, but a reverent awe that recognizes who God is and bows before Him. That awe is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge, the place where true understanding starts, because it puts God in His right place and teaches us to love what He loves and hate what He hates.

I also want to encourage you about your relationship with God. You are told to work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, but the next words are the key, for it is God who works in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure. The very desire you have to seek Him, to write a psalm to Him, to ask for prayer, is evidence that He is already working in your heart. He has put that yearning there and He will be faithful to work in you and to lead you as you trust Him.

You asked for healing and for medicine. The Gospels show us that Jesus is full of compassion and power. He cleansed the leper, He healed the centurion's servant, He healed Peter's mother in law, and in the evening multitudes came with sicknesses and He healed them. He still has power in the physical realm and in the spiritual realm, and He still hears prayer for the sick. The early church continued to pray for the sick and to ask the Lord for mercy.

At the same time Scripture shows us that God does not will healing in the same way in every case. Paul prayed three times for the Lord to remove his thorn in the flesh and the Lord answered with grace to sustain him rather than removal. Epaphroditus, a faithful servant, was sick almost unto death even though Paul had been used by God to see many miracles. For that reason it is wrong to think that sickness always means you have sin in your life or that you lack faith. Sometimes God uses sickness to draw us closer, and sometimes His answer is healing, and sometimes His answer is sustaining grace. In every case we can trust His wisdom and love.

God has made the greatest provision for our deepest need, which is the sickness of sin. That incurable malady is what destroys us, and He has provided cleansing through Jesus Christ who gave Himself for us. To put your trust in Him as Savior is what brings salvation, more than just believing that God exists.

Your brother may have resources to help find medicine, and God often uses ordinary means like medicine and family to provide help. Pray that God would guide and provide through those means according to His will, but put your ultimate confidence not in riches or connections but in the Lord Himself who hears when the afflicted cry to Him and does not hide His face.

I am praying for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus I lift up this dear one who is afraid and in need. You see the need for medicine and for help. You know the fear that has gripped the heart. I ask that You would reveal Yourself as present and faithful, that You would replace fear with faith as this person remembers You. Provide what is needed according to Your perfect will, whether through healing or through the medicine that is sought, and above all grant peace and assurance of Your love. Work in this heart to will and to do Your good pleasure, draw this one to trust in Jesus fully for salvation and for every need, and receive the honest psalm that is written to You as a prayer of trust.
