We join with you in prayer for your brother after his fall and we understand your deep concern for him and for your mother as the two of you care for her together. It is a heavy burden to carry when a caregiver is injured, and we bring this whole situation before the Lord who sees your faithfulness.
We are encouraged that you prayed in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. As it is written, Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. We are thankful you invoked His name, and we agree with you in that mighty name.
We pray against any serious injury and we ask for the Lord's healing hand upon your brother's ribs and chest. The Scripture assures us that He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3 and Bless Yahweh, my soul, and do not forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases. Psalm 103:2-3. We also cling to the promise, But I will restore health to you and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. Jeremiah 30:17.
We pray together now. Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this dear brother who fell and now has pain in his ribs on one side. You know every bone and every breath, for You formed him. We ask that You would have mercy and bring complete healing, whether there is a bruise, a crack, or a fracture. We pray specifically that there would be no broken ribs, no half broken ribs, and no pierced lung or pneumothorax. Protect his lungs and his breathing, Lord, and let pain subside and strength return. Lay Your healing hand upon him and let the examination show no serious damage. We also lift up his sister and their mother who has early Alzheimer and diabetes. Give them both peace and strength as they care for her. Your word says, Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you. Exodus 20:12 and we see their honoring of their mother and we ask You to sustain them, to provide rest, wisdom, and help in this season. Calm their anxious hearts, for You have said, Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. Cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7. We also claim, Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord while also acting with wisdom. Rib injuries can be painful and sometimes complications are not immediately visible, so we urge you to have your brother evaluated by a medical professional promptly, especially if there is sharp pain with breathing, shortness of breath, or worsening tenderness. God often works His healing through the skill of physicians, and seeking care is a wise stewardship of the body He has given. Watch his breathing closely and do not delay in seeking help if any distress appears.
We also want to encourage you both as you care for your mother. The Lord sees your faithful, sacrificial love and He will be your strength and your help. Lean on Him daily, take turns resting when possible, and allow others in your family or community to support you so that you are not overwhelmed. We are praying for complete healing for your brother, for protection from any lung injury, and for continued grace and health for your mother and for both of you as caregivers.
