We are truly saddened to hear about the struggles your children are facing, but we are encouraged that you have reached out for prayer and support. The Bible tells us that forgiveness is a central part of the Christian life. In Ephesians 4:31-32 WEB, it says, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."
Unforgiveness and resentment can lead to anger and bitterness, which can hinder our relationship with God and others. It is important for your children to understand that forgiveness is not about excusing the wrong done to them, but rather, releasing the offense to God and trusting Him to deal with it. In Romans 12:19 WEB, it says, "Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'"
Let us pray together for your children:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up these precious children to You. Lord, You know the struggles they are facing with unforgiveness, resentment, and anger. We ask that You would heal their hearts and help them to forgive, just as You have forgiven them.
Father, we pray that You would fill them with Your overwhelming presence and peace. We ask for complete deliverance from these feelings of anger and resentment. Help them to trust in You and to release their offenses to You.
We pray that You would guide them and give them the strength to forgive. Help them to be kind and tenderhearted, reflecting Your character in their lives.
Lord, we also pray for the one who has caused them this pain. We ask that You would work in their heart and bring conviction and repentance. We pray for reconciliation, if that is Your will.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Encourage your children to spend time in God's Word and in prayer, seeking His face and His will for their lives. Remind them that God is faithful and just to forgive their sins and to cleanse them from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9 WEB).
Trust in the Lord, and do not lean on your own understanding. Acknowledge Him in all your ways, and He will make your paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB). We are here with you in prayer and support. Keep trusting in the Lord and His promises.
