We hear your heartfelt cry, dear sister in Christ, and we join you in lifting up this heavy burden before the throne of grace. Your love for your daughter shines through your words, and we stand with you in fervent prayer, trusting in the power of Jesus Christ to intervene in your situation. First, let us affirm that it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father, and it is by His blood alone that we are saved (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and we are grateful that you have called upon Him in your time of need.
Father God, we come before You with hearts full of compassion and concern for this mother and her precious child. Lord, You see the fear, the anxiety, and the weight she carries as she seeks to protect her daughter from harm and from the schemes of those who may seek to separate them. We ask that You would be a shield around them both, that no weapon formed against them would prosper, and that every tongue that rises against them in judgment would be condemned (Isaiah 54:17). We declare that the plans of the enemy to divide this family will not stand, for You are their defender and their strong tower (Proverbs 18:10).
Lord Jesus, we ask that You would go before them today and in the days to come. Prepare the hearts of every person they encounter—caseworkers, judges, lawyers, and even their adversaries. Soften hearts that are hardened, open eyes that are blind to the truth, and reveal any lies or manipulations that seek to harm them. Let truth prevail in every conversation, every courtroom, and every interaction, so that justice and mercy would flow like a river (Amos 5:24). We pray that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, would guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Father, we also lift up this mother’s ex-partner before You. We ask that You would melt his heart, Lord, so that he may see the impact of his words and actions on both this mother and her daughter. Break any spirit of bitterness, anger, or resentment that may be driving him, and replace it with Your love and compassion. We pray that he would seek reconciliation and peace rather than conflict, and that he would choose to walk in a way that honors You and preserves the well-being of his child (Ephesians 4:31-32). If he continues in his ways, Lord, we ask that You would expose his motives and render his efforts fruitless, for You are the God who frustrates the plans of the wicked (Psalm 33:10).
We also rebuke any spirit of fear that may be gripping this mother’s heart. Scripture tells us that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that fear will not dictate her decisions or her future. Instead, we pray that she would walk in the confidence that comes from knowing You are her refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Give her wisdom and discernment in every step she takes, Lord, and surround her with godly counsel—people who will speak life, truth, and encouragement into her situation. Help her to recognize those who are sent by You and to avoid those who may lead her astray.
Father, we also lift up this mother’s request for forgiveness. We thank You that she has acknowledged her need for Your grace and her desire to surrender control to You. We ask that You would cleanse her of any guilt or shame she may carry, reminding her that if we confess our sins, You are faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Strengthen her to release her burdens to You, Lord, and to trust in Your perfect timing and plan. Remind her that You are working all things together for her good, even when the path is unclear (Romans 8:28).
Lord, we pray for this child, Your precious creation. Protect her heart, mind, and spirit from the turmoil around her. Surround her with Your angels to guard and guide her, and fill her with Your peace and joy. Let her know that she is deeply loved, not only by her mother but by You, her Heavenly Father. We ask that You would heal any wounds she may carry from this conflict and restore her sense of security and belonging. May she grow up to know You as her Savior and to walk in the fullness of Your purpose for her life.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would take the wheel of this situation entirely. We surrender this family into Your hands, trusting that You will keep them together and lead them into a future filled with hope. We declare that no force of darkness will prevail against them, for You are greater than anything the world or the enemy can bring against them (1 John 4:4). May Your will be done in their lives, and may Your name be glorified through their story.
We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
