Please pray for my daughter’s dog she is putting the ### year old pup down Saturday because she’s slightly aggressive she did bite my daughter out of fear of the vacuum not sure if it was meant for the vacuum but she has a baby so she didn’t want to take chances and the shelter said they would just put her down but she is only ### and she’s been isolated at home and segregated so I think that is where this is coming from she would do great with one person without kids or other pets please pray for this situation, she’s too young. I’m praying for a miracle that someone will take her from this and save her, I know only Jesus can thank you

We are joining you in prayer over this very heavy and tender situation and we hear the ache in your heart for both your daughter and her young dog and for the safety of the baby.

We know this is not a simple decision. Your daughter is carrying the responsibility of protecting her child while also loving this young dog who acted out of fear, and we understand why you see the isolation and segregation at home as part of what has shaped this behavior. We agree with you that this dog may still have a future in the right home without small children or other pets, and we are asking the Lord for mercy and for a way where there seems to be no way.

Scripture reminds us that the Lord cares for His creation. Proverbs 12:10 says A righteous man respects the life of his animal, but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel. Psalm 36:6 says Yahweh, you preserve man and animal. Matthew 10:29 says Are not two sparrows sold for an assarion? Not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father's will. Nothing is hidden from Him, not even the life of this young dog, and Jeremiah 32:27 declares Behold, I am Yahweh, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me? We also take comfort in Philippians 4:6-7 which says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

We also pray for wisdom for your daughter as she must make a difficult choice. James 1:5 says But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

We lift this all before the Father together now.

Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, and we thank You that we can approach Your throne of grace through Him alone. Lord, You see this young dog, You see her fear and her youth, and You see this family who loves her yet must put the safety of a precious baby first. We ask for Your mercy to be poured out here. If it is Your will, make a way for this dog to be spared and placed in a safe and loving home where she can be understood and properly cared for, perhaps with one person without children or other pets as has been shared. We pray You would open doors in these next days before Saturday, guide Your people to see the need, and move in the hearts of rescues or individuals who have the experience to help a fearful dog. Give Your wisdom to our sister and her daughter, guard the baby from all harm, and grant peace that surpasses understanding as they wait on You. Provide clear direction, and let Your perfect will be done. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus, believing that nothing is too hard for You. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to seek the Lord fervently and also to take practical steps while there is still time. We would urge you to reach out quickly to breed specific rescues, local no kill rescues, and foster networks beyond the shelter, and to be transparent about the bite history and the fear around the vacuum so that any potential adopter is fully prepared. Sometimes a trainer or behaviorist may also be willing to evaluate or advocate for the dog. Above all we trust with you that only Jesus can bring the miracle you are praying for, and we thank you for acknowledging His power. We are standing with you in prayer that the Lord will provide, protect, and bring peace to your family in the days ahead.

We can hear how torn your heart is in this, loving your daughter and your grandbaby and also loving this young dog. Wanting to protect a child while also wanting to give a fearful pup a chance is such a painful place to be, and we have been praying with you for mercy in these days before Saturday.

What you shared about her being isolated and segregated makes a lot of sense. A dog who lives cut off from normal household life often becomes more anxious, and fear around something loud like a vacuum can bring a bite that is not about being a bad dog. It is understandable your daughter feels she cannot take a risk with a baby in the home, and it is also understandable you can see what this dog might be in a quiet home with one person and no other pets or children.

If there is still time, one gentle step you could take today is to reach out beyond the shelter to a couple of foster based rescues or to your veterinarian's office and share her story honestly, including the bite history and that she would need a child free, pet free home. Rescues that use foster homes sometimes have more flexibility to evaluate a dog than an open intake shelter does. Even if a new placement does not open up, you will know you did what you could with love.

Father, we bring this little dog and this family to You in Jesus' name. You see their love for her and the weight of this decision. If it is Your will, please open a safe and suitable home where she can be calm and cared for. Give Your wisdom and peace to her family, and comfort this grandmother's heart in whatever grief this week brings. Amen.

Your burden has been heard and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace in this tender and difficult trial.

To love a creature that has been part of the family, and yet to carry the weight of responsibility for a little child in the home, is a sorrow that presses heavily. We understand your grief over this young dog, isolated and segregated, acting out of fear, and now facing Saturday with such a heavy decision upon your daughter. It is right to care for the animals God has entrusted to us, for the righteous man regards the life of his beast, and it is also right to protect the little ones committed to our care.

We will pray with you that the Lord, whose mercy is gratis and who delights in mercy, would interpose with His tender provision. He is slow to anger and plenteous in mercy, and His hand is not shortened that it cannot save. We have seen in Scripture that He is the great Miracle Worker who can open a way where there seems to be no way, and who can rescue the prey from the mighty when all human hope seems to fail. We will ask Him, if it be His gracious will, to provide a safe and suitable home for this dog, one without children or other pets, where she might be understood and cared for, and to do so before that appointed day.

Let us pray together.

O Lord our God, Father of mercies, Thou seest this family and this need. Thou knowest the love for this creature and the fear and wisdom that must guard the child. We ask Thee in the name of Jesus Christ, Thy Son, who alone is our hope and our salvation, to grant wisdom to this mother and daughter, to give them peace in making a right and responsible decision, and to show tender mercy to this animal Thou hast made. If it please Thee, Lord, move the heart of some fit person to take her and give her a quiet home, and make a way where the shelter could not. We trust not in our own devices but in Thy sovereign goodness, for with Thee nothing is impossible. Comfort this family, guard the little baby, and let Thy will be done, and let Thy people see Thy footsteps of mercy even in this sorrow. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus, our only Savior, Amen.

May the Lord give you quietness of heart as you wait upon Him. Continue to seek Him, to make every proper and diligent effort to find a safe placement through trusted rescues and contacts, and to cast this care upon Him who cares for you. There is hope while we can yet pray to a God who hears, and there is confidence for every soul that trusts in Christ.
