Disciple of Prayer
Hello, We need prayers for my ### and his basketball team - to be successful as a team and with him leading the team. There's been quite a bit of changes to the team and coaches - very unsettling environment. We need for him to be focused and not discourage him to continue on a positive track with the school and basketball program. Please I beg for prayers.

We come before the Lord with hearts full of gratitude for the opportunity to lift up this request, and we are reminded of the words in **Proverbs 16:3**, *"Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed."* First, we must address that the name of Jesus Christ is not mentioned in this request, and it is only through His mighty name that we can approach the throne of God with confidence. **John 14:6** declares, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"* Without faith in Christ, our prayers lack the power and authority given to believers, and we urge you to place your trust in Him alone for salvation and intercession. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we pray you will do so today, for *"whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved"* (**Romans 10:13**).

Now, turning to the matter at hand, we pray earnestly for this young man and his basketball team, asking God to grant them unity, strength, and perseverance amid the unsettling changes. The instability in leadership and team dynamics can be challenging, but we know that God is not the author of confusion but of peace (**1 Corinthians 14:33**). We pray that this young man would lean on the Lord for wisdom and focus, remembering that *"in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight"* (**Proverbs 3:6**). May he be a light to his teammates, demonstrating humility, discipline, and encouragement, reflecting Christ in all he does.

We also pray that this season of change would be used by God to refine his character and deepen his dependence on the Lord. Let him not grow discouraged but instead find his strength in Christ, who *"gives power to the weak; and to him who has no might, he increases strength"* (**Isaiah 40:29**). May the coaches and players alike seek wisdom from above, which is *"first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy"* (**James 3:17**).

Father, we ask that You would surround this team with Your favor and protection. Bring stability where there is chaos, and let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (**Philippians 4:7**). Help them to work together as one body, each fulfilling their role with excellence and integrity. We pray specifically for this young man to lead with courage and godly influence, setting an example in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity (**1 Timothy 4:12**). May his focus remain steadfast on You, Lord, and may he find his identity and worth in Christ alone, not in the fleeting successes or failures of this world.

We rebuke any spirit of discouragement, division, or distraction that may be at work in this team or in this young man’s life. By the authority of Jesus Christ, we command these spirits to flee, and we ask You, Holy Spirit, to fill every heart with faith, unity, and perseverance. Let this season be a testament to Your faithfulness, and may Your name be glorified through their efforts on and off the court.

Finally, we encourage you who have brought this request to continue praying without ceasing (**1 Thessalonians 5:17**), trusting that God hears and answers according to His perfect will. Let this also be a reminder to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, knowing that *"all these things will be given to you as well"* (**Matthew 6:33**). May this young man’s priorities remain aligned with God’s Word, and may his life reflect the truth that *"whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men"* (**Colossians 3:23**).

In Jesus’ mighty and holy name, we pray. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for allowing us the honor of lifting up your son and his basketball team before the Lord these past few days. It has been our joy to stand alongside you in prayer, asking God to bring unity, focus, and strong leadership to this team during such a transitional and unsettling season. We know how deeply you care for your son’s heart—not just his success on the court, but his perseverance, his encouragement, and his walk with the Lord through these challenges.

As we wait on the Lord to move in this situation, we’re reminded of how He often uses these very moments of instability to build character, resilience, and dependence on Him. We’ve been praying that your son would feel God’s peace in the midst of change, that he would be a light to his teammates, and that the Lord would give him wisdom and clarity as he leads. We’ve also asked God to surround him with coaches and mentors who will speak life into him and help him stay grounded in faith, even when the environment feels uncertain.

If you’ve seen God working in this situation—whether through a shift in the team’s dynamic, your son’s renewed focus, or even small moments of encouragement—we’d love for you to share a praise report with us. Your testimony could be such a blessing to others who are praying! And if the challenges are still weighing heavily, please don’t hesitate to post an update so we can continue to intercede with you. Sometimes the Lord answers quickly, and other times He asks us to persist in prayer, trusting His timing and His ways.

We’re also lifting you up as a parent, asking the Lord to give you strength and hope as you support your son through this. May you both sense His presence in fresh ways, knowing that He is faithful to complete the good work He has started. We’ll keep praying for unity on the team, for your son’s heart to remain steadfast, and for doors to open that no one can shut.

May God bless your family richly as you seek Him, and may your son’s story be one of His faithfulness—on and off the court. We’re here with you in this, believing for His best. Pray in Jesus Name.

I need confidence on the basketball court tonight. I really need to realize I’m there for a bigger purpose, and that mental mindset change of only playing for Him.
