Galatians 5:
20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies,

We understand the deep distress and torment you are experiencing because of this neighbor, and we grieve with you over the spiritual and emotional warfare you are enduring. The behavior you describe—gossip, meddling, sexual depravity, harassment, and disorder—is not only harmful but is explicitly condemned in Scripture as works of the flesh. Galatians 5:19-21 warns us:

*"Now the works of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit God’s Kingdom."*

This is not merely a human conflict but a spiritual battle, and we must address it as such. You have done well to turn to prayer, for our struggle is *"not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places"* (Ephesians 6:12). We must put on the whole armor of God—truth, righteousness, the Gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God—to stand firm against these schemes of the enemy.

It is also critical to note that you did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ in your request. There is no other name under heaven by which we are saved, and it is only through His name that we have authority over the enemy. Jesus Himself declared, *"Most certainly I tell you, whatever things you ask in my name, I will do them, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it"* (John 14:13-14). Additionally, Acts 4:12 leaves no room for ambiguity: *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now. Confess your sins, repent, and believe in Him, for *"if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9). Without Christ, we are powerless against the forces of darkness, but in Him, we are more than conquerors.

As for your neighbor, while it is natural to desire their removal from your life, we must also pray for their salvation. Jesus commanded us to *"love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you"* (Matthew 5:44). This does not mean tolerating sin or abuse, but it does mean we intercede for their souls, that God would convict them of their wickedness and lead them to repentance. The apostle Paul, once a persecutor of Christians, was transformed by the grace of God—no one is beyond His reach. Pray that this neighbor would encounter the living God in a way that breaks their heart of stone and replaces it with a heart of flesh (Ezekiel 36:26).

At the same time, we pray for your protection, deliverance, and peace. Psalm 91 is a powerful reminder of God’s shielding presence over His children:
*"He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.’ For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day; nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that wastes at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it will not come near you."* Claim this promise over your life and home.

We also encourage you to take practical steps. Document any harassment or inappropriate behavior and report it to the proper authorities or community leaders. While we are not called to take vengeance (Romans 12:19), we are to *"submit ourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake"* (1 Peter 2:13), which includes seeking justice through lawful means. Trust that God can use even these efforts for your good. Additionally, surround yourself with a community of believers who can pray with you, support you, and hold you accountable in love.

Lastly, guard your heart against bitterness. Hebrews 12:15 warns, *"Looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and many be defiled by it."* Bitterness will only give the enemy a foothold in your life. Instead, choose forgiveness—not because your neighbor deserves it, but because Christ has forgiven you. Forgiveness does not excuse their behavior, but it frees you from the bondage of resentment.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our brother/sister who is enduring such deep torment and oppression at the hands of this neighbor. Lord, You see the wickedness, the gossip, the sexual depravity, the harassment, and the spiritual darkness at work. We declare that no weapon formed against Your child will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we ask that You would expose every hidden deed of darkness and bring it to light (Ephesians 5:11).

Father, we pray for supernatural protection over this beloved one. Surround them with Your angels, as You did for Elisha in 2 Kings 6:17, and let them dwell in the secret place of the Most High. Shield them from every arrow of the enemy, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual. Give them wisdom to know how to respond, and grant them the strength to stand firm in Your truth. If it is Your will, Lord, remove this neighbor from their life or change their heart so completely that they become an instrument of Your peace rather than torment.

We also pray for this neighbor, Father. Soften their heart of stone and convict them of their sin. Let them encounter You in a way that leaves them undone, that they may turn from their wickedness and seek Your forgiveness. Lord, break the chains of sexual immorality, gossip, and hatred in their life, and replace it with Your love and holiness. If they are under spiritual oppression, we bind every demonic stronghold in the name of Jesus and command it to flee. Let Your light shine into their darkness, and may they come to know You as their Savior.

Father, we ask that You would provide a way of escape for our brother/sister. Open doors for them to move if that is Your will, or bring swift justice and restoration to their current home. Give them discernment to know Your leading and the courage to obey. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and let them rest in the assurance that You are fighting for them (Exodus 14:14).

We rebuke every spirit of fear, anxiety, and despair in the name of Jesus. Let hope rise up in our brother/sister’s heart, and let them walk in the victory that Christ has already won. Remind them that they are more than a conqueror through Him who loved them (Romans 8:37), and that nothing can separate them from Your love.

Finally, Lord, we pray that You would bring godly community around this one—believers who will stand with them in prayer, offer wisdom, and provide support. Let them not walk this path alone, but let them experience the body of Christ in tangible ways.

We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your goodness, Your justice, and Your timing. May Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, and may Your name be glorified in this situation. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Stand firm, dear one. The Lord is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and do not lose heart. We are praying with you and for you. If you have not yet done so, we urge you to seek out a local, Bible-believing church where you can find support and accountability. You are not alone in this battle. The God who parts seas and raises the dead is fighting for you. Trust in Him.
