Galatians 5: 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions

We hear the deep distress in your heart as you face this torment from a neighbor who brings gossip, meddling, disorder, and even sexual predation into your life. The pain and fear you describe are real, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting this burden to the Lord who sees all and judges justly. You are not alone in this struggle, and we rebuke the works of darkness that seek to harm you in Jesus’ name.

First, we must address the spiritual warfare at play here. The Bible warns us in Ephesians 6:12, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." The harassment and torment you describe are not merely the actions of a difficult neighbor, they are manifestations of evil that must be confronted with the authority of Christ. We declare that these spirits of gossip, hatred, wrath, and sexual immorality have no place in your life. They are rebuked and cast out in the mighty name of Jesus, who has already triumphed over them on the cross.

You mentioned Galatians 5:20, which lists the works of the flesh, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, and dissensions. These are indeed the fruits of a heart that is not submitted to God, and they bring destruction wherever they go. But we also remember Galatians 5:22-23, which tells us, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law." We pray that the Lord would fill you with His Spirit, so that you may walk in His peace and protection, even in the midst of this storm.

We must also address the sexual predation you mentioned. This is a grave sin, and it is not something to be taken lightly. The Bible is clear in 1 Corinthians 6:18-20, "Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." Sexual sin is an affront to God’s holiness, and it defiles the temple of the Holy Spirit. We pray that the Lord would expose and halt any such behavior, and that those involved would repent and turn from their wicked ways. If this neighbor is engaging in criminal activity, we strongly encourage you to report it to the authorities, as Romans 13:4 tells us that governing authorities are God’s servants to bring justice.

You expressed a desire to move soon, and we believe the Lord can open doors for you to escape this torment. Psalm 34:17-19 assures us, "The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all." We pray that the Lord would provide a way of escape for you, a place of peace and safety where you can thrive. May He guide your steps and lead you to a home where His presence dwells, far from the influence of this neighbor’s wickedness.

We also want to address your statement, "we are not God" and "we are not an agency of employment." While it is true that we cannot meet every need in our own strength, we must remember that our God is a God of provision. Philippians 4:19 tells us, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." You are not alone in your struggles, and the Lord is more than able to meet your needs, whether it be for a new home, protection, or even employment. We pray that He would open doors that no man can shut and provide for you in ways that only He can.

It is also important to note that you did not mention the name of Jesus in your request until the very end. We want to remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father. John 14:6 tells us, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Confess your sins, repent, and invite Him into your heart. He is the only one who can truly set you free from the torment of the enemy.

Now, let us lift this situation to the Lord in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who is enduring torment from a neighbor filled with wickedness. Lord, You see the pain, the fear, and the injustice they are facing. We ask that You would arise as a mighty warrior on their behalf. Rebuke the spirits of gossip, hatred, wrath, and sexual immorality that seek to destroy their peace. Expose every evil deed and bring it to light, that justice may prevail.

Father, we pray for a way of escape. Open doors for them to move soon, to a place where Your presence dwells and where they can live in safety and peace. Provide for their every need, whether it be a new home, protection, or employment. Let them experience Your faithfulness in tangible ways, so that their faith may be strengthened.

Lord, we also pray for this neighbor. We ask that You would soften their heart and bring them to repentance. If they are engaging in criminal activity, we pray that You would intervene and that justice would be served. Turn their hearts away from wickedness and toward You, the only source of true life.

Father, we declare that no weapon formed against our brother/sister will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Surround them with Your angels, and let Your peace guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Strengthen them in their inner being, that they may not grow weary in this battle. Remind them that You are their refuge and fortress, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

We thank You, Lord, that You are faithful and that You will never leave nor forsake us. We trust in Your promises and declare that victory is ours in Christ Jesus. May Your name be glorified in this situation, and may Your will be done. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to stand firm in your faith, knowing that the battle belongs to the Lord. Continue to seek Him in prayer and in His Word, and trust that He is working even when you cannot see it. You are not forgotten, and you are deeply loved by the One who laid down His life for you. Keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith, and do not lose heart. The Lord is your defender, and He will fight for you.

We hear the exhaustion in your words, the not-knowing where to turn, the sense of being trapped in tension you did not choose. What you are asking for is safety and quiet, and that is a deeply human need. We are praying with you for that peace to be restored in your home and your street, and for God to make a way where right now you see none.

When someone’s behavior is as relentless as you describe, it is not weakness to protect your own household. If any of what you mentioned involves actual sexual harassment, threats, or behaviors that make you fear for yourself or others, please do reach out for practical help as well, contacting local law enforcement or the National Sexual Assault Hotline (24/7 at 800-656-4673) can connect you with someone who understands how to document harm and intervene safely. Prayer and action go hand in hand; you do not dishonor God by seeking protection through the just means he provides.

At the same time, we can stand with you in trusting that God sees what is hidden, knows every intention, and is not distant from your distress. You are not required to fix this person or carry the weight of their choices. What belongs to you is to ask, to leave room for God to act, and to hold onto the truth that you are not alone.

Please pray with us:

Father, you know the turmoil on this street and in this home. We ask you to bring quiet where there has been chaos, safety where there has been menace, and swift resolution according to your will. Shield this household from harm and from the erosion of constant harassment. If it is your will to move this neighbor elsewhere, we ask for that with open hands. In the meantime, grant calm, steady hearts, wise boundaries, and someone nearby who can walk alongside. In Jesus’ name.

The complaint you lay before the throne of grace runs deep and tangled, like a briar that tears the flesh. You cry for the removal of this tormenting neighbor, and your words burn with the heat of long affliction, slander, disorder, lewdness, and a spirit of malice that would make any home a little hell. I hear it, and I do not wonder that your soul is wearied. Yet let us set this matter straight before the Lord, lest you pray amiss and add gall to your own cup.

Do you imagine that the Almighty needs a list of shelters or a catalog of this man's depravity before He can act? He who weighs the mountains in scales and knows the thoughts of all men has already marked every base word, every unclean glance, every design of wickedness. The God of Jacob does not slumber. The dry tree shall indeed wither, and the high, proud trunk shall be laid low by the axe of judgment, this is no idle threat but the certain end of all who harden their necks. Yet remember this: you are not the executioner. Vengeance belongs to the Lord, not to the bruised heart that fumes in the night. To pray for the ruin of a soul, even a soul that drips with poison, is to forget the mercy that spared you when you were yet in your sins. Christ prayed for His murderers; dare we do less?

Turn your gaze, then, from this wretch's removal to your own heart's posture. Are you as eager at the mercy-seat to plead for his conversion as for his disappearance? Intercessory prayer is the sweetest that ever rises to heaven. It blends hearts in a strange, divine alchemy. When you kneel and cry, “God, break his hard heart, save him from the pit, and make him a new creature,” you are climbing the very steps of your own deliverance. Has it not struck you that a saved enemy is a double victory? The torment ceases, and a soul is plucked from the flames. Job’s latter end was more blessed because he prayed for those who had vexed him.

But you say, “I am no employment agency for devils; I cannot defend myself; only God can fill their need.” True enough; and that very confession must lead you to a stronger cry. Take Jacob’s model: go straight to God with your fear and your helplessness. Spread your case before Him, tell Him of the disorder in the road, the orphanage wronged, the spirit of uncleanness that prowls like a beast. Plead His promises as a child reminds a father. “Lord, You have said You will be a wall of fire round about Your people. You have promised that no weapon formed against me shall prosper. Remember Your word unto Your servant, upon which You have caused me to hope.” This is not dictating to the Most High; it is honoring His own covenant.

Yet let me probe a tender spot. Unholiness hinders prayer. Are there contentions in your own spirit? Outbursts of wrath? You cite Galatians the fifth, and it is a mirror as much as a sword. If you have answered reviling with reviling, or if bitterness has supplanted the peace of Christ in your breast, you have put a clog upon your own petition. Go, first, and with a broken heart beseech God to quicken you in His way, and then you will see clearly how to pray for that neighbor. The best cure for the wound another has dealt you is to pour out your soul for him, asking the Lord to fill him with divine love until the devil’s work is undone.

Does this seem a weak counsel? I tell you, it is the power of God unto salvation. The prayer of faith can stay plagues, yes, and can alter the whole atmosphere of a street. It may be that God intends to use your steadfast intercession as the very means to bring this man to the dust in repentance, or to open a door for you to escape. The answer often comes in a garb we did not expect. Jacob prayed to be delivered from Esau’s sword; God gave him a wrestling match that left him limping, yet it changed Esau’s heart. The Lord may not move the neighbor immediately; He may first move you into a quiet confidence that makes the neighbor’s arrows blunt.

In the meanwhile, gather the watchers. Let the prayer meeting become your fortress. Continue with one accord in supplication, for there the divine power is most often outpoured. And when the dark suggestion whispers, “Give up; prayer is but breath,” spurn it with all your might. Cry both day and night, and let your prayer be in their calamities, as David’s was. The Lord will surely hear.

Only take heed: do not let your tongue call down fire, as if you were an agent of Sodom’s judgment. That prayer, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man,” when uttered in the right key, becomes the prelude to Christ drawing nearer. Go and entreat the Lord not merely to be rid of a nuisance, but to hallow this trial into a triumph of grace. Then, whether this neighbor be removed or transformed, you shall see that the dry tree has no lasting root, while the one planted by the waters shall not cease from yielding fruit. In the name of Jesus Christ, the Breaker, the Overcomer, I bid you hope.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You cry out against your neighbor, detailing many evils and asking God to remove this torment from you. Truly, the works of the flesh are manifest, as you yourself have quoted: hatred, contentions, outbursts of wrath, dissensions. But consider carefully: while you rehearse the sins of another, what spirit is at work in you? Are you not also being consumed by anger, by the desire to see your neighbor cast out, by rehearsing every report of their wrongdoing? When we spread accusations, even if we claim to disbelieve them, we make the story credible by our much speaking. Keep silence, and free yourself from this snare. Do not add to the disorder by returning evil for evil.

The Apostle commands us, as much as lies in us, to live peaceably with all. How can you hope for peace by praying for the removal of another? Instead, pray for your own heart, that you might bear meekly the spiteful acts of this neighbor. Consider the gain: when you refuse to be angry, you deliver yourself from sin, you gain fortitude and patience, and you become free from the constant sorrow that hatred brings. You punish yourself by hating; you benefit yourself by loving. Is it not a small labor to forgive, compared to the toil of nursing enmity? By a mere act of will, your own trespasses may be forgiven, for the merciful obtain mercy. If you show no mercy to this troubled soul, what judgment awaits you?

Let your first work, then, be to show the kindness you wish to receive. Do not wait to be loved, but begin yourself to honor and pray for this neighbor’s true good. Overcome evil with good. Remember how the Saints pleased God: by vehement love even to those who wronged them. Abel, Moses, Paul, all chose the good of their brethren above their own comfort. Can you not bear a little strife so that your neighbor might see Christ’s patience in you? This is the way of the commandments: to love God is to love your neighbor. So let your prayer be transformed. Ask God not merely to move the torment, but to move your own soul toward the peaceable fruit of righteousness, and to grant repentance and salvation to that household. In this, you will find true deliverance from demons and violence, for where love rules, no darkness can abide.

I hear the deep distress in your words, and I am lifting this situation with you before the throne of God. The harassment, the gossip, the meddling, and the sexual misconduct you describe are real evils, and the Lord sees every hidden thing. You have turned to the right place: only God can fill their need, and only He is your true protection. So we come boldly in the name of Jesus Christ.

You mentioned Galatians 5 and those ugly works of the flesh, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions. Whether such behavior is stirred by demonic influence or simply by a heart given over to sin, the damage is sharp, and you are bearing the wounds. Take heart: greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. Do not let the enemy’s tactics diminish your faith. The disciples once stood helpless before a powerful evil spirit, amazed by its hold on a young man’s life. Jesus taught them that a tiny seed of faith, cultivated in prayer and fasting, could move such a mountain. That same authority belongs to every child of God. Through Christ, you do not need to cower before darkness.

Yet I want to gently caution you: not every failure in another person’s moral behavior is direct demon possession, and becoming overly focused on identifying demons can distract us from the simple walk of love and trust. Scripture commands us to love our neighbor as ourselves. That may feel impossible when a neighbor is tormenting you, spreading slander, and bringing misery to your doorstep. But love works no ill to its neighbor. This does not mean you must passively accept abuse or pretend the danger isn’t real. Even in a fallen world where neighbors deceive and speak lies, you are wise to set boundaries and not return evil for evil. If you encounter someone who refuses the way of peace, the peace you offered returns to you. You do not have to fight this battle in your own strength or with human cunning.

Remember who your neighbor truly is. The man in the ditch on the Jericho road became the Samaritan’s neighbor by sheer need. Right now, you are in distress, and God is your neighbor, showing you mercy. Yet the one harassing you is also in a deep spiritual ditch of his own, bound by whatever chains of sin drive him. Your prayer for him to move or for God to stop the violence is a cry for deliverance, for you and, in a sober way, for him. Love does not mean wishing him success in his sin; it means desiring that he be brought to repentance and that his destructive behavior be halted. So yes, pray boldly that God would either transform his heart or remove him from your life, whichever brings glory to Christ and relief to your soul.

I join you now, asking the Lord Jesus to step into this storm. He has all authority over unclean spirits. He rebuked them, and they fled. We ask Him to silence every lying voice, to break every harassment, and to make your home a place of safety again. We trust You, Almighty God, to be our shield. Protect this precious person from all violence and from the torment of fear itself. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray.
