Beloved of All
Your prayer comes from a heart that is genuinely tired and ready for change, and I hear that. You speak of wanting freedom from unnecessary burdens, of being ready to move on and be happy. Yet I want to gently point out something buried in your very words. You are carrying a heavy load right now, one that feels like it is pressing down on every part of you, the trip, the deal, the future of your children, the relationship with your husband. You are calling out, "Help me," and that is the right place to start.
Jesus never promised that life would be without weight, but He made a clear distinction. He said, "My yoke is easy and my burden is light." When a burden feels overwhelming, crushing, and filled with constant agitation, it is often a sign that it is not the burden He has given you. Very often, what we call a heavy burden from the Lord is actually a burden we have taken on ourselves. It comes from trying to control every outcome, to work everything out for our children’s future in our own strength, or to find happiness by rearranging our circumstances. Trying to please ourselves with a new location or a new deal while managing the old life can become a master that drives us with a heavy hand. That is the heavy burden of man, not the light burden of Christ.
What was the burden Jesus carried? It was simply to do the will of the Father. It was light because He was not pulled in two directions, trying to serve His own desires alongside God’s. When you bring your desire to move and to help your kids before the Lord, lay that request down, but also lay down the frantic need to make the deal work. Ask Him to show you what it looks like to please Him in this season. His provision for you is not found in a perfect escape plan, but in a person, His Son. Rest is found when we stop looking at the deal we need to close and start looking at the rest He has already accomplished for us.
You speak of wanting your mothers’ presence to be with you. Even more so, you need the guidance of His presence. Just as He led his people with a cloud by day to shield them from the harsh sun, He wants to be the one directing your path, even when the way seems hard to travel. Do not let the desire for a fresh start become a weight that sinks you. Let this trip be a time where you release the frantic planning and ask, “Lord, what is your will?” His yoke is not the exhausting anxiety of keeping both places or managing an uncertain future. His burden is trusting that when you seek His kingdom first, the rest is His responsibility. True freedom isn’t found just in a new address; it is found in laying your heavy load of self-will at His feet and taking up His light, easy purpose for your life.
