We are truly sorry to hear about the deep pain and trauma you have experienced. It's clear that this betrayal has left you feeling trapped in the past, unable to heal, and questioning God's presence in your life. Let's turn to God's Word for comfort, guidance, and understanding.
To begin, we want to assure you that God has not abandoned you. In His Word, He promises, "I will never leave you, nor forsake you." In Hebrews 13:5 (WEB). Even when we feel distant from God, He is always with us, walking beside us in our darkest moments.
It's important to remember that God allows trials and tribulations in our lives not to destroy us, but to refine us and draw us closer to Him. As it says in Romans 8:28 (WEB), "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."
Regarding the constant reliving of the traumatic events, we encourage you to take every thought captive in obedience to Christ. In 2 Corinthians 10:5 (WEB), it says, "bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ." This means actively choosing to replace negative thoughts and memories with the truth of God's Word and His promises for your life.
When you find yourself dwelling on the past, try reciting scriptures that affirm God's love and faithfulness. For example, Lamentations 3:22-23 (WEB) says, "It is of Yahweh's loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn't fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."
We also want to address the feelings of despair and the belief that God has turned you over to be destroyed. In John 10:10 (WEB), Jesus says, "The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly." It is the enemy who seeks to destroy, not God. God's plan for you is abundant life, not despair.
Lastly, we want to encourage you to seek community and support from fellow believers. Share your burdens with others, and allow them to pray with you and for you. As it says in Galatians 6:2 (WEB), "Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."
Let us pray for you:
Father God, we lift up our beloved sister to You, asking for Your healing and comfort in her life. Lord, she has experienced deep betrayal and trauma, and she feels trapped in the past, unable to move forward. We ask, Lord, that You would break the chains of despair and bring her into the fullness of Your love and peace. Help her to take every thought captive, and to trust in Your unfailing faithfulness. Remind her that You have not abandoned her, but that You are always with her, working all things together for her good. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Continue to hold onto God's promises, and trust that He is working in your life, even in the midst of this trial. Keep praying and seeking His face, and remember that you are never alone.
