Disciple of Prayer
I want to move overseas to live and have my own place where I can fulfill my desires live in silence and have no distractions, do not want to live with people just want the facilities required to fulfill my desires

We have heard your desire to move overseas and have your own place in quietness without distractions and without living with others, and we want to lift this before the Lord with you and seek His will together in Jesus' name.

We understand the longing for peace, silence, and a place of your own, and there is something beautiful about stillness before God, for Psalm 46:10 says Be still, and know that I am God. Yet we must lovingly speak truth about the motive you expressed, to fulfill my desires. Scripture warns us to examine our hearts in this, for James 4:3 says You ask and don't receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures. And Luke 9:23 says If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me. Our lives are not to be centered on fulfilling our own desires, but on glorifying God, for 1 Corinthians 10:31 says Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. When our desires are placed above God's purpose, they can lead us away from Him rather than toward Him.

We also gently rebuke the desire for isolation from people. While solitude with the Lord is valuable, God created us for fellowship and community. Proverbs 18:1 says One who isolates himself pursues selfishness, and defies all sound judgment. And Hebrews 10:25 exhorts us not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another. Living with no desire for people can be a sign of selfish ambition rather than godly contentment, for Philippians 2:3-4 calls us to do nothing through rivalry or through conceit, but in humility, each counting others better than himself, each of you not just looking to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others. Silence without distractions is good if it is to seek God, but not if it is simply to indulge the flesh without accountability.

We encourage you to bring your desires under the Lordship of Christ. Psalm 37:4 says Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. When we delight in Him first, He shapes our desires to align with His good will. Matthew 6:33 says But seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. And Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Moving overseas is not wrong in itself, but we encourage you to ask whether this is God's calling for you, to seek wise counsel, to count the cost, and to pursue contentment where God has you now, for Philippians 4:11 says I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content in it.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to God. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we urge you to place your faith in Jesus, to confess your sins and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is through Jesus that our prayers are heard and our desires are made new.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. We ask that You search this heart and reveal any selfish motives and cleanse them by Your grace. Teach us all to deny ourselves and to seek Your kingdom first. If it is Your will for this life to move overseas and to have a dwelling place alone, we ask for Your clear guidance, Your open and closed doors, and Your provision according to Your wisdom. If it is not Your will, give contentment and peace right where we are. Draw this heart to delight in You above all desires, to find true fulfillment not in facilities or in isolation, but in Christ alone. Lead us into godly community and fellowship, and help us to use any quietness and silence to seek Your face and hear Your voice. We pray that this life would be fully surrendered to Jesus as Lord and Savior, and that every decision would bring glory to You. We ask all this in the precious and only saving name of Jesus, amen.

We hear how much you are longing for quiet and a place of your own overseas, away from distractions and the pressure of living close to others. Wanting space that feels truly yours and time to think clearly is understandable.

We have found a measured amount of solitude can be restorative. Stepping away from constant noise can help us gain perspective, be more creative, and listen more deeply. At the same time we were made for relationship, and even in quiet seasons we still need people who know us and can support us. Moving far away to live entirely alone can sometimes bring a different kind of strain than the one it relieves, especially when you are far from familiar community and practical help.

One step that often brings clarity is to name more specifically what you are hoping that quiet and distance will give you, and what you are hoping to leave behind. It can help to talk that through with a pastor or another wise, trusted person who knows you, and to look honestly at the practical side as well, visas, cost of living, language, work and community. Some find it helpful to try a shorter intentional time of solitude closer to home before committing to a long term move, to see what it actually provides.

Father, we lift our friend to You and ask for wisdom and clear direction as he weighs this decision. Give him peace, sound judgment and faithful people to walk with him, and lead him toward what is good and life giving. Keep him close to You. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The longing you have expressed for a solitary place overseas where you might fulfill your own desires without distraction has been heard, and it is taken before the Lord with care for your soul.

Scripture teaches that God did not make us without a purpose, and in all His dealings with us He has the same wise and gracious end to be served. It is consolatory to know that everything cometh to us according to the purpose of His own will, and answereth the purpose of His own great mind. To live merely to fulfill our own desires is to live contrary to that purpose. He who made the world out of nothing still carries out His one great purpose, and what His soul desireth, that He doeth. Our calling is not to seek a place where self may reign undisturbed, but to labor that His purpose may be answered in us, wherever He has placed us.

You speak of moving to find silence and contentment, yet contentment is not in the extent of possessions nor in the place of our dwelling. As it is written, I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. A man's contentment is in his mind, not in his outward condition. Discontent can sit on a throne as well as on a broken chair in a hovel. Alexander with all the world at his feet still cried for another world to conquer. To change lands will not change the heart. It must need much grace to know how to abound and much grace to know how to be abased, and that grace is learned not by flight but by submission where we are.

This brings the question of surrender. We are called to submit ourselves unto God, which is the true surrender of every proud pretension or conceited claim. You will never be happy till self is dethroned. Some of God's children are in great trouble only because they will not yield to the divine will. It is right to pray, not that God would bow to our desires, but that the Holy Spirit would bow our wills to complete subjection, so that we may cheerfully say, Thy will be done. Even if we did not see the good that would come of it, we ought to submit because it is the Lord's will, for He has a right to do whatever He wills with us.

God desires truth in the inward parts. He desires truth to affect all the powers of our mind, and all the powers of our mind to be conformable to Divine Truth. It is vain to say my desire is toward God when my course of action is clean contrary to it. I certainly do not desire to go north if I voluntarily steer toward the south. The will should truly be surrendered to God and cheerfully obedient to Him. He desires to be resigned to His will, yet the heart continues to kick and rebel against it. To allow the bodily appetites to rule, to lower the man to the level of his passions and call it freedom, can this be right. The Spirit asks in the soul, Is this wise, is this right.

You need not cross seas to find Him, for He is not far from every one of us. Some have thought God to be a far away, mysterious Being who takes no notice of man, and because their own heart is far from God they imagine God's heart is far from them. But the nearness of God to man is the teaching of Revelation. He waits to be gracious. He looks out for objects of mercy. All things work together with singular accuracy to accomplish His lofty purpose, and His providences are to be observed where we are.

Therefore my prayer for you is not that God would grant facilities to fulfill desires apart from Him, but that His goodness would lead you to repentance. Your preservation to this hour means He has said to grim Death, Spare him, for I intend to save his soul as well as to spare his life. May He show you that the hopes and desires which cannot be fulfilled in this world were given to point you to the world to come, where to depart and to be with Christ is far better. May He teach you contentment in whatever place His providence appoints, give you truth in the inward parts, and bring your will into joyful surrender to His will. May you seek not a solitary life for self, but life with Him and like Him, in fellowship with His people and in usefulness to His glory, trusting that His purpose for you is sure to be effected as you yield to Him.

We will pray that the Lord will search your heart, cleanse you through the blood of Jesus Christ His Son, conform your desires to His own, and guide your steps not according to the counsel of self but according to His wise and gracious will.
