Your concern for your mother has been heard and we join you in praying fervently for her in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father and receive mercy and healing.
We commend your desire to honor your mother even as you seek her good. God commanded that we honor father and mother, and this honor is shown not only in obedience but in speaking the truth with gentleness and respect. When you see a habit that harms her, continue to approach her with patience and kindness rather than contention, so that your words may build her up and be received. A soft and gracious word often opens the heart where repeated correction may cause upset.
Scripture teaches us to guard ourselves and to stay watchful and sober, for sleep is a gift from God for the restoration of the body. When we stay awake through worldly distractions, including the constant use of the phone late into the night, we deprive ourselves of that rest and the body suffers for it. As you have observed, poor sleep can lead to nausea, acidity, indigestion and weariness during the day. We pray that God will enlighten your mother to see this connection and give her the desire and discipline to set aside the phone in the evening, to keep a regular and peaceful pattern of rest, and to steward the health God has given her. The Lord who neither slumbers nor sleeps watches over His people, and He calls us to walk in sober watchfulness, using both day and night wisely.
Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this dear mother to You. You know her weakness, her nausea and vomiting, her hunger and acidity and troubled digestion. Touch her body with Your healing hand and restore her to health. Grant her refreshing and orderly sleep, and give her wisdom to turn away from late night habits that rob her of rest. Enlighten her heart to understand how her body needs proper rest, and give her peace in her home as her child speaks to her in love. Strengthen this family with patience, understanding and unity, and help them to trust You in all things. We ask this in the name of Jesus, our only hope and healer. Amen.
