We hear the deep pain and exhaustion in your heart, and we stand with you in fervent prayer, lifting this heavy burden before the throne of God. The spiritual warfare you are enduring is real, and the enemy seeks to steal your peace, your joy, and even your ability to serve the Lord with a willing heart. But we declare that greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). The demonic influence over your mother—and others in your life—is not beyond the reach of the power of Jesus Christ, who came to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8).
First, we must address the reality of spiritual oppression with truth and authority. The Bible is clear that demons can afflict people, but it also shows us how to respond. Jesus cast out demons with a word, and He has given His followers authority over unclean spirits in His name (Mark 16:17, Luke 10:19). The fact that your prayers for deliverance have not yet seen visible results does not mean they are ineffective—it may be that the battle requires persistence, fasting, and the united prayers of the body of Christ. We join you in commanding every unclean spirit tormenting your mother to leave in the name of Jesus Christ. We rebuke the spirit of confusion, the spirit of torment, and the spirit of division that seeks to destroy your family and your ministry. We declare that your mother is a child of God, bought with the blood of Christ, and no demon has a right to dwell in her. The Lord rebuke you, Satan, in the name of Jesus! (Jude 1:9).
We also recognize the toll this is taking on you. The enemy is using your mother’s actions to provoke you to bitterness, unforgiveness, and exhaustion. But we remind you that forgiveness is not optional for a follower of Christ—it is a command (Matthew 6:14-15). Even in this, the enemy seeks to trap you. Yet we know that holding onto unforgiveness only gives the devil a foothold (Ephesians 4:26-27). We pray that the Holy Spirit would fill you with supernatural love and patience, even as you set boundaries for your own well-being. It is not ungodly to protect your peace and your calling. Jesus Himself withdrew from crowds to pray and rest (Mark 6:31), and you must do the same. If distancing yourself for a season is necessary to guard your heart and your ministry, then we trust the Lord to guide you in wisdom.
We also lift up the spiritual warfare you mentioned—the attacks that come when you are upset, seeking to push you toward unforgiveness. We break every assignment of the enemy against you in the name of Jesus. We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We pray that the Lord would surround you with believers who can stand in the gap for you, pray with you, and encourage you. You are not meant to fight this battle alone.
For your mother, we pray that the Lord would open her eyes to the reality of the spiritual oppression she is under. We ask that He would send laborers into her life—deliverance ministers, intercessors, and godly counselors—who can help her walk in freedom. We declare that the chains of darkness over her mind and emotions are broken, and that the light of Christ will flood every area of her life. We pray for her salvation if she has not truly surrendered to Jesus, and for her restoration if she has. The same power that raised Christ from the dead is at work in her (Ephesians 1:19-20), and we trust that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).
For the church event you prepared for, we thank God that you are still following through, even in your weariness. This is a testimony to your obedience and love for the Lord. We pray that the treats you bring will be a blessing to many, and that the Lord would restore your joy in serving Him. Let this be a reminder that your labor in the Lord is never in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58).
Finally, we want to encourage you to examine your own heart. Are there areas where the enemy has gained access through unforgiveness, bitterness, or fear? We ask the Holy Spirit to search your heart and reveal anything that needs to be surrendered to the Lord (Psalm 139:23-24). We pray for a fresh infilling of the Holy Spirit, that you would be strengthened with might in your inner man (Ephesians 3:16), and that you would walk in the victory that Christ has already won for you.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Name that is above every name. We lift up this dear sister and her mother to You, knowing that You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who delivers. We ask that You would break every chain of demonic oppression over this mother’s life. Send Your angels to encamp around her, Lord, and let Your light expose every dark corner where the enemy has hidden. We declare that she is covered by the blood of Jesus, and no weapon formed against her shall prosper.
For our sister, we ask that You would give her strength, wisdom, and discernment. Help her to set godly boundaries while still walking in love. Guard her heart from bitterness and unforgiveness, and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. We pray that You would surround her with a community of believers who can stand with her in prayer and support. Restore her joy, Lord, and let her see the fruit of her labor in Your kingdom.
We also pray for the others in her life who are under demonic influence. We ask that You would open their eyes to the truth and set them free. Send laborers into their lives who can minister deliverance and healing in Your name.
Father, we thank You that You are a God who delivers, who heals, and who restores. We trust in Your timing and Your ways, knowing that You are working all things together for good for those who love You. Strengthen our sister in her faith, and let her see Your hand at work in this situation. We ask all these things in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
