Your desire to spend more and more quality time with Jesus Christ is a good and holy desire, and it is itself a work of grace in your heart. We gladly join our prayers with yours and thank God that He has put this hunger in you.
Scripture teaches us that prayer is a great weapon for the daily fight of life. As we have often said, if at the morning dawn we first make God favorable to us by prayer and supplication, we go forth to our business with much security. The day is full of rocks and storms, and without prayer the boat is easily sunk. For this reason we need prayer early and by night, not as a mere habit but as our strength. The Lord Himself showed us this pattern, for He often withdrew with His disciples to a garden or a mountain, seeking a place free from disturbance where He could be alone with the Father and speak of necessary things.
Therefore we encourage you to set apart fixed times each day, especially in the early morning and in the quiet of the evening, in a place as free as possible from distraction. Come with confidence and faith, for the Lord has promised that those who cleave to prayer and faith will do great things. And remember that while it is good to enjoy the prayer of others for you, you yourself must remain awake and alert. Even if one should become as Paul, he still needs prayer. Do not think you have no need, but keep a humble and watchful heart.
Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, we thank You that You hear us always through Your Son Jesus Christ. We ask in the Name of Jesus Christ that You will help this Your servant to love Your presence more and more, to seek You diligently, to meditate on Your Word, and to remain close to You through prayer. Grant a disciplined heart, a quiet place, and a steadfast mind, that time with You would not be rushed or neglected but would be rich and fruitful. Keep this soul awake and faithful, and let Your grace be with his spirit. In the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, Amen.
